“Although I booked months ago, I somehow was assigned a room on a pet friendly floor. Pee stains on hallway carpet. On day two of my two night stay there was an awful odor in hallway which I reported to the front desk. Bathroom was poorly designed: spout on sink faucet was not long enough, so water was all over counter every time I used it. Shower door leaked so water all over floor when I showered. “amazing place,very historic,staff was awesome, a must stay,room was not what i reserved 8 months in advance in the 5th ave house but was changed to 2nd house,which was amazing in itself and worked out great,but it was the point of not being told of the change in advance. but these things happen and it was a great stay”

“This is the second time I have stayed at the Oaklander. The first time there were stains all over my sheets. They were changed. This time the pillows were wrinkled and did not smell fresh. I had to request new pillow cases. It’s a beautiful hotel but when they tell you they are inspecting your room before you go in beware, you better inspect it yourself. Housekeeping was very courteous when they changed the pillow cases. One bright point. Very disappointing for such a beautiful hotel.”

“Great location for the university. The staff were very welcoming and happy to help in any way. The room was in excellent condition.”

“Apt was great and spacious, its very convenient to Pitt and CMU but entrance is in a side street that feels like an alley and the immediate area doesn’t feel like a neighborhood so that was only downside. Literally 2 min drive to anywhere but prefer to stay where immediate area is more walkable lively community. For the price and space it was great though.”
