“We had a fantastic stay at the Bear’s Den for Labor Day week/end 2025. The owners have done a wonderful job of making this a fantastic up north getaway in the woods. It was so peaceful and relaxing while also having all you need in terms of modern amenities. There were 7 of us plus a dog and we were all cozy and comfortable. You need to plan around the ferry for coming and going but we thought that added to the adventure and the kids loved it. Highly recommend. My parents already want to come...

“My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!”

“Great view and beach access to Whitefish Bay on Lake Superior. Easy beach walks to Point Iroquois lighthouse. Rock hunting paradise. So many wonderful things to do within 50 miles. Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish point and lighthouse. ”

“We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house. The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite. We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool. We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!”
