Not so luxurious Lake Side Escape- Not Suitable for Large Groups, Poorly Maintained, and MisrepresentedRented this for my mother’s 90th birthday, we expected a spacious, well-equipped home for a large family gathering. It fell far short of expectations. While the house is large, it does not accommodate a large group. It has one dining table that seats 6 and no other space for a group to gather comfortably. There is only 1 refrigerator and its ice maker produces very little ice.Only 2 years old the property is unfinished and in rough shape. Carpets are heavily stained, bathrooms are moldy, visible water damage throughout and AC units upstairs and downstairs struggle to cool the rooms. We killed multiple roaches and stuffed grocery bags in large gaps around the doors to keep flies and gnats out.A recording Ring video camera in the media room and a hole cut in the bathroom blind made us very uncomfortable.We were not informed until the day of arrival that it is a shared property. The rental apartment is actually a locked-off area within the house, all outdoor spaces, decks, dock, fire pit are shared. Privacy is basically nonexistent: you hear all conversations and since their deck space is directly next to the dining area you see and hear them during meals. Apartment renters hosted a party which included a drunk parent & child driving off in the middle of the night and a guest carried out unconscious the next morning. Not what we envisioned for a family celebration.
