We were in Leadville for the winter train and figured that if we stayed here we won’t have to get up so early. It’s very short distance from the train station. The hotel is nice and very historic. We love the old look and the bar downstairs is awesome. However, due to the preservation of the hotel, there is no elevator so don’t come with lots of stuff. Only bring what you need. Otherwise, you might have a hard time going up the stairs. Another thing is the hotel is known for its haunted stories if you do not like paranormal activities then don’t stay here. You may not be able to sleep. There are several rooms that are known to be haunted per the hotel staff. The hotel provided the list of rooms that are haunted to the guests. I think it would’ve been better if we didn’t know anything about any of these rooms because we were so paranoid about these rooms after knowing about them. Our room was right next to one of the rooms that it’s haunted. Nothing happened, but we were not able to sleep all night long because we were so worried and paranoid that something is gonna happen. Overall the cleanliness and the service were great. After all I love the hotel I would recommend to those who don’t mind paranormal activity but I feel like it is not for us and i am not sure if I will be staying here again. Might stop by the restaurant and the bar down stairs though.
