As advertized, the property is in the Historic center, but just barely. This is OK, as the town center is not too big. In general the property has lots of potential but falls short in quite a few areas. Our arrival, at the exact time we announced, created some confusion, as we were asked to pay for our stay (which we had done prior to arrival) and then led to two separate apartments, when instead we had been confirmed an apartment (Messapia) with two rooms. Apologies followed and we were guided to the apartment, via 25 steep stairs (which might not be advertized?). For the initial error we were promised 2 breakfast coupons which were never handed to us. Also later phone calls for additional supplies of toilet paper were not answered. The positives were constant WiFi service, working air con and working shower, although we had no hot water on our last morning. The beds (not wrought iron head boards) had one thin sheet only, no emergency blankets for cool nights. The kitchen equipment is rather sparse (no scissors, no bread knife, no water kettle etc), no basic provisions (eg sugar), and one very old dirty sponge for the dishes.
There were no brochures or leaflets for sightseeing which would have made the property a little more welcoming. The terrace is not on the same floor as the apartment - instead one has to climb 20 more steps to the roof top. During our stay, it looked neglected and unkempt. No colorful plants (maybe too much for hot summer) but old plants were still in the plant holders ... not inviting at all).
The toilet was very temperamental and had to be coaxed into working almost every time. There should be a user guide how to work it (water is not filling up regularly after flushing).
A table in one of the bedroom was OK for two people having breakfast, obviously the person in that room had to get up before that.
As mentioned, the apartment has potential but the website for this apartment needs to be adjusted, and it would be good if the above-mentioned items would also be reviewed and adjusted.
