“Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble for him. Lovely quiet room at the rear, although I would imagine rooms at the front are quiet too as this is a peaceful crescent in Scarborough. Great facilities in the room, shower gel etc. tea/coffee making stuff too. Books to read in the room… very tastefully decorated & homely. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. “Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!”

“On arrival my husband was given a door key card not the actual key that was actually needed. He was stuck outside the room on the second floor because had had all the luggage and didn't want to lug it back downstairs. Room was very hot with no view but fortunately had a fan. “The hotel was perfect location for open air theatre 15 min stroll down the hill. Lovely decor in the hotel very clean and fresh looks like it’s had a recent refurbishment. Breakfast nearly perfect just a small recommendation to chef - just cook the sausages a little longer for that golden brown all over. “Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year ”
