Esperienza positiva, l’hotel e la camera sono piccoli ma il soggiorno è stato perfetto. Camera piccola ma pulita. Posizione dell’hotel ottima, accanto alla fermata metro: in poche fermate puoi visitare tantissimi luoghi. La signora dell’hotel è stata molto gentile e disponibile. Sicuramente ci torneremo!

La stanza non sembra per niente a quella delle foto. Pulizia e condizioni pessime. Posizione comoda al centro.

Ho scelto la camera con cucina. Pregi: camera e cucina molto grandi e puliti, ambienti silenziosi anche se vicini alla strada, cucina fornita di tutto l'occorrente, la signora Christine molto gentile, la metropolitana attaccata all'albergo ma non rumorosa, il supermercato Tesco di fronte, piccolo ma aperto 24 ore su 24. Difetti: i locali si trovano al seminterrato, per cui c'è poca luce e se si aprono le tende si è visibili a tutti quelli che passano, atmosfera un po' squallida per via di tubi a vista e carte da parati scrostate in più punti.

Dear Guest, You had booked a room with a shared bathroom which is clearly stated on the website. We offered you a room upgrade to an ensuite double at the cost listed on the website but you declined. It is also clearly advertised that we do not serve breakfast, but we are immediately across from the Brunswick Centre which has a selection of 10 cafes and restaurants

The property was not what it appeared to be in photos, and there was a bad odor that was helped by opening the window and blowing the fan. Toilet seat was broken and the overhead light failed to illuminate at times.

Location
Very basic hostel level but the location is excellent, literally two steps from Piccadilly line underground from Heathrow. Lots of restaurants close by and good 24hr Tesco opposite. Clean but old premises, comfortable beds. Family room in the basement is great for 4-5 people and has full kitchen (old style).

That's not a 3 star hotel. Zero stars.... the room was soooo small not like in the pictures In room number 6 I've been bitten by some bed bugs. The hotel is not recommended guys. Try to avoid it and dont try to save some money

They don't have hot water neither heated rooms/No tienen agua caliente ni calefacción en las habitaciones. Room doesn't look like pictures/Las habitaciones no son como las exponen You will have zero contact with the owner over the phone or email/ no hay contacto con el dueño ni por telefono ni por email. If you happen to be there unluckily, the owner will say he is not the owner and that they don't answer phone or email./ Si por desgracia tienes este hotel, el dueño te dice que no es el y que no cogen las llamadas ni los emails. Curtains were awfully raid and dirty/Las cortinas sucias y raidas.

This was the worst hotel I ever stayed, for £200 for 2 nights I had nothing in the room, no kettle to, no tea or coffee, no breakfast. Even it was a 3 star hotel it had to have all this, I expected. When I asked the owner for the kettle, he gave me a broken one, I had to ask for another. I don't like asking. For £200 I should have booked a better hotel.

Got a bathroom not worth calling a bathroom
I rented a room with a bathroom. I got a room with a shower, no toilet was 2 flights down. Turns out the shower had no hot water either. Turning the hot water tap on for 10 mins, got the water to barely warmer than the cold tap after 2 minutes and that is where it stayed for the next 8 minutes.

An ideal London stopover, no frills.
Our short stay was fine. I would suggest 3 of things. 1) a few more hangers. We were 3 and only had 2 hangers 2) state in your writeup that there is a hair dryer. 3) organise something so one can contact the hotel. The number provided 02032896304 and 02078377686 are never answered. While some complained about the noise we never heard anything. The furniture and carpeting are dated but clean and functional. The room was quite small for 3 but as we were only there to sleep it didn't bother us. The location is a 100% advantage so well worth the price.

The entire building is very tired, the carpets were threadbare, the floor boards creaked and the windows didn't shut properly. On the positive side, the wifi worked well and it was very convenient for restaurants and transport links.

Had to ask for kettle to boil water. The inside heating element of the kettle is rusty and chips fallen off in the boiled water. No cup for drinking, no tea bags, instant coffee etc. Check-in must be at 4.00 pm or later, no reception desk. A live-in lady in the basement to provide room key. Drop key in the mail box for check out before 10.00 am. Late check out will be charged for $ 100.0. hour etc.

Bit tired, no frills but did the job
We stayed for 4 nights for a sightseeing break, but didn’t book until around 5 weeks before. Was myself, my husband and our 17 year old son. Other hotels I looked at for 3 people had a double plus a pull out type bed for the third person whereas The Russel Hotel had 2 doubles. I thought it would be more beneficial to have a good nights sleep than somewhere that was more up market. I’m really glad we did as a grumpy 17 year old wouldn’t have been good! We all slept well, our room was ok, not massive, not the nicest by any means but did the job. The shower worked fine, a little small but ok. Everything was a bit dated. It’s not really a hotel, just a room and shower room with no other facilities. Doors did bag a bit loudly with people coming in or out during the night. But didn’t disturb us too much to be really annoying. Location was good for us. If I had a bit more money and booked further in advance I would probably look at somewhere a bit nicer but it did the job and we did have a nice break.

Location excellent. Attractive area, lots of shops, cafes, restaurants. V central and tube station next door. Hotel rather run down and dated, although clean. Room small and basic but fine for me. Be aware that the en suite only has a sink and shower, no loo. I knew this before booking but had expected the toilet to be just down the corridor. It was TWO floors down from my room. Also, the window did little to block out the street noise.

Over promised but under delivered.
The room was much smaller than expected,3 people in it would have been impossible. There was nowhere to hang clothes. Very basic funishing and decorations. No one serviced the room in the 3 days, not even to empty waste bin.

the room is in the basement. you wouldn't open the window because it's so dirty right outside. the room smells really bad like a boroken pipe. booked for 3 nights. left after 2. sometime no wifi. It has a kitchen with basic utensils. however, it's so dirty that you really have to wash it before using.

The location is great, our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The entrance and hallway are beat-up and smell funky but the bedroom and shared bath were fine. Not a fancy place, but a good price. The location is surprisingly quiet, even though it is right next to the Russell Square station.

Do Not stay here. For £280 I can’t swing a cat in the room. The bed and pillows are hard and only get one. The noise is horrendous in the hotel with people walking up and down the stairs most of the night. I really do No recommend this hotel my son was so upset to stay in this hotel because he didn’t also didn’t like it.

Convenient but not worth £180
I stayed at The Russell Square hotel for an overnight stay while working in London. Desperate times call for desperate measures but this was genuinely the only hotel I could find for less than £200 in central London. Arriving at around 11pm, I was given my key and walked up the narrow flight of stairs to my room. It was reminiscent of a student bedroom from the 80's and in desperate need of modernisation. Wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice.

This is a conveniently located absolute dump. Trashy in all respects. Last renovated in the 70s it is used furniture from a bad yard sale.
