“The Sloop Inn is in a convenient location to explore the area. The bedroom was small and had too much furniture; the two chairs took up all the space left in the room to move around, open a suitcase. The only power sockets were behind the bed. In order to plug in my phone and other chargers, I had to pull the bed away from the wall about 15cm in a room that was already too small. The bathroom sink light did not work. The staff were great.”

“The room was decent and the bed comfortable. The issue we had was the bar had closed at 10.25pm and the bar staff wouldn’t serve us despite us having been told that it would be open until 11pm. We weren’t even allowed to add drinks to our bill and have them in our room because the barman said he’s closed all the tills. He said we could go to the local garage if we wanted to buy alcohol - not exactly what you expect when staying in a hotel.”

“La pulizia è nella media di posti dello stesso genere: da migliorare. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene con la stanza e con il cibo. Colazione continentale buona con cornetti assortiti, bevande calde e fredde, varia scelta di marmellate e cereali e yogurt. Non abbiamo fatto la classica colazione inglese quindi non saprei in merito, però la cucina del pub la sera era buona. Spazio esterno per i bimbi con giochi e verde, recintato. Comodo parcheggio.”

“Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. "De Vere Tortworth Court is a beautiful and unique mansion, completely surrounded by nature, built over 170 years ago. We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. Penhalingon's products in the bathrooms Plenty of free parking space Things that need improvement: We stayed for 3 nights in a standard room, and it was okay. The room is quite comfortable and of a decent size, even though it’s quite old – I would suggest upgrading to a more premium room. The bathroom needs maintenance… the sink was extremely impractical to use, as it had two separate faucets: one for cold water and the other for hot water. As it is a very old mansion, the rooms are not soundproof, and we could hear every step and conversation from other guests. There was no fridge in the room and no bathrobes or slippers provided for the spa. The spa was disappointing. The main pool was cold, and the only available jacuzzi was too small and always crowded. Overall I am happy about my experience and I would come back as it is such a unique and beautiful location!"
