Not as expected

We booked this place for a family vacation in Mammoth Lakes with 6 people about 5 months in advance. I chose this property because of the newer build and the amenities for the family. 30 minutes before arriving I was notified that there was a issue with the garage door and the property will be ready for check in at 4pm. Upon arriving at the property at 4pm the garage was not fixed and the maintenance guy told us he was waiting for a 3rd party service technician to arrive and he did not show up. The maintenance guy also told us that the company was aware of this issue for 2-3 days before our arrival. Meanwhile we had our family of 6 waiting in the cars out front in the street after some traveling across the country for the trip. After many back and fourth calls with the Nomadness rental team with very little understanding of our frustrating situation, the owner refunded us very little and the the garage door did not operate as normal. We were finally able to check in by 5pm. Each time we had to open and close the garage we had to go inside the house and mess with the garage door button until it stoped moving. In addition to the garage issues, there was trash left under the kitchen sink that smelled really bad upon our arrival, and no hand soap in the downstairs bathroom where my wife and I stayed. As a whole, we were not impressed with this property and for paying a lot to stay here for 3 nights we did not get the experience we expected from this property.

Recent Mammoth Stay

The property is as listed. New, functional, the layout is good and the two car garage is a plus. There is currently construction across the street that begins at 7am so if you are an early riser it won't affect you.

Perfect Spot for a Winter/Summer Getaway

We had a great time staying at this perfect spot in our favorite mountain village. I've been coming to Mammoth annually for the last 25 years for camping, backpacking, and snowboarding. This house is definitely top 3 places I've stayed. The house was immaculate, the kitchen was perfect for cooking, and we had a great time watching the Super Bowl on the massive TV!!. All the rooms and beds were comfortable and it was nice to have a full bathroom attached to every room so there was no sharing or fighting for bathroom time. We had a small hiccup with one of the shower doors shattering while someone was taking a shower. Nomadness Rentals (the property manager) was OUTSTANDING in getting maintenance over to clean everything up as well as getting a new shower curtain installed in the interim. They also sent new towels and checked in both during and after out stay to make sure everything was great from that point on. HUGE shout out to Kelli at Nomadness Rentals!!

No central heat to master bedroom

Perfect for our group but w no central heat into master bedroom and all 6 windows in master could not be closed tightly therefore allowing a freezing draft coming in all night. Outside temp for our first night was 9 degrees. 9degrees!!!! The master bedroom was as cold as the garage. I had to put towels on the windowsill. My sister later discovered she had a couple of space heaters in her closet (her room is downstairs). Why have space heaters when you have central heat? You have space heaters because your central air is not working as it should. This should have been disclosed! Management was sorry about our ordeal but that was about it. No compensation or heads up about it at all! Very poorly managed if you ask me. 2 space heaters tripped the circuit. 1 space is better but it kept us up late and woke us up throughout the night. We barely got any sleep during our 3 nights stay. And since our stay was only 3 nights, management and owner didn’t jump to fix the problem. They sent someone over to look at draft problem but after fixing it, there was still a small draft coming from 3 big windows. I asked for more towels bc I used all the towels from our room for the windows and I never got them. Poorly managed. Also, all final approval comes from the owner and he’s not budging on compensation for our ordeal. Would not recommend this unit.

Amazing Unit

We had an amazing time in Mammoth. This unit is gorgeous - one of the nicest places we have stayed. Everything you need is here. Very clean and open floor plan. Had a great time Super Bowl weekend. Can’t wait to be back.

Very Nice Accommodations

Very nice property, close to town, but far enough for a peaceful retreat. There is construction in the neighborhood, but it was very quiet at night, so it didn’t bother us. We have a small pandemic pup and it was a very clean property considering they allow animals. (The owner has photos of their dog which is adorable.) We would definitely rent this property again. The management was very quick to respond to any questions.
