  • Flw Woodside nel registro nazionale, costruito nel 1952. Ho vissuto in questa casa per 20 anni;) Ho completamente rinnovato a casa le specifiche che credo che il signor Wright avrebbe trovato in linea con il suo modo di progettare. Woodside si trova su un terreno boscoso di due acri in un quartiere molto vecchio.

    Sei a un miglio di ristoranti e negozi di alimentari sul lato nord della città. Un ottimo quartiere per passeggiare e andare in bicicletta lungo il fiume appena giù per la collina da Woodside. Ho ricostruito la cucina affinché uno chef si diverta con la sua cucina e la sua conservazione del vino. Spero che apprezzerai la mia casa tanto quanto me negli ultimi venti anni. Matthew Harris

Beautiful setting, partially wooded lot with good privacy. Interior restored meticulously with an uncharacteristically "larger" kitchen. Quiet, quiet, quiet. One of the only pet-friendly FLW properties. The dogs loved the spacious yard.

We had a great time! The place was very cool and in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Had a lot of fun looking at the FLW books and blueprints! Very fun family experience! Everything needed is provided and owner is easy to contact. Would love to come back sometime.

Wedding celebration with high school classmates.

Stayed in a Frank Lloyd Wright house and got to checks it off of my bucket list. So cool to stay in such an historical and unique home. Wonderful Vrbo to rent in Marion IN.

Woodside

Great experience to stay in a FLW designed home during our visit to the James Dean museums in Fairmount. All was as advertised and Matthew was a great host and very helpful during our stay. A wonderful and unique home in a private setting may the stay very relaxing too. Highly suggested if you are in the area and appreciate "special" architecture!

A stay inside a work of historical art

Perfect for the Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast. Great history, blue prints and an airy wood burning fireplace are just some of the great features this house has to offer, while keeping in mind that it was built in 1953. Host was informative and responsive. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed the experience of being in a Frank Lloyd Wright house overnight quietly reading about it. The story of Dr. Davis and the house and how it became a part of Marion was inspirational. And viewing the blueprints and looking for the fine details of the house was exciting We loved every minute there

We love FLW so the opportunity to actually spend the night in one of his homes was a life-long dream. This home did not disappoint. We read the original owner's narrative of his interactions with FLW and viewed the original blueprints. What a treat! The home itself was comfortable with beautiful views through the many windows. We will never forget this stay. Thanks to the homeowner for his hospitality.

My daughter and I spent 1 night during our Frank Lloyd Wright week in the mid-west. The house was in great shape. Sleeps 6, feeds more than 6. Has a industrial strength kitchen. It was very nice.

A house like no other.

One of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed. Not only is this place historic but it’s a phenomenal experience. We had a fire in the fireplace nearly the whole time. Snow on the ground, frigid temps, but the house was warm thanks to radiant heated floors. Would love to return, Matthew was awesome.

Very interesting house. Actually got turned around a few times. Quite neighborhood, had a small fire outside sat back and enjoyed our surroundings. Looking forward to it again sometime.

This is the 11th Wright Usonian where I have been able to experience an overnight stay. Each one has been a memorable experience and Woodside was no exception.The thing that I enjoyed most was reading the 40 page detailed description of the building of Woodside by Dr. Davis who was the original owner. I was surprised that Dr. Davis had frequent phone communications with Wright during the construction process even though the architect was in the middle of multiple projects (including the Guggenheim Museum).If you decide not to prepare your own meals in the gourmet kitchen, I would highly recommend having lunch at the 1912 Wilson-Vaughn mansion, a Georgian inspired home that was designed by Samuel Plato, an African-American architect. I also enjoyed a dinner at the Tomahawk restaurant that is housed in a former private club built in 1907 in Mission style.I continue to be most appreciative of Matthew and other like-minded home owners who make their Wright designed Usonians available to the public. Spending a couple of days in one of these homes is the only way to really appreciate Wright's vision.
