“I loved the forest access. It was a huge bonus for me. I also loved how close it was to all the other hiking areas and cloudcroft/Alamagordo. Another bonus is hpw dark it gets at night and how little light pollution there is whoch allows to see stars. Even better, the forest was accessible at night which gave way to all kinds of great opportunities for astrophotography. Excellent place. “Outstanding little cabin and even better hosts. Anna went above and beyond to correct a minor misunderstanding. I promise you you haven't stayed in a place like this before. Everything about the house reflects a wabi-sabi sensibility: simple, natural, and incredibly calming. Honor the host's wishes and leave your shoes at the genkan. There is even a little shoe rack right inside the door to place your shoes on. Socks only in the house! Highly recommend.”
