A Unique & Sustainable Masterpiece. A rustic jewel in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, a robust, mud brick and hempcrete home built by the owners "Building Biologist" with a Holistic Architect concept design ‘PassivHaus’ & Mediterranean influences. The house showcases lots of history, recycled and salvaged materials such as 'Dockland Wharf’ timber post and beam structure, The ‘Eureka Tower’ glazing for windows, and remanent bluestones from the old ‘Aqueduct’ that ran into nearby Reservoir.

A unique natural and sustainable house constructed from earth and salvalged materials on site and locally sourced.

Located in Preston, Melbourne, this house oozes character and charm, is open and spacious, light, bright and an inviting home. Attention has been made in the use of natural material and breathable walls to create healthy and comfortable spaces so expect to feel amazing :-)

The house has been recently built from a sustainable, environmental, passive house and healthy perspective. It offers,

- Relaxing area with chimney, perfect for reading and chill out.

- Andalusian Patio, (green house), a beautiful peaceful, sunny part of the home where you can desconect, relax, read, enjoy family & friends.
Bi-fold doors open from both the living and kitchen area creating an indoor/outdoor space.

- Beautiful and sunny Kitchen with views to the "Andalusian Patio", bifold windows facing the front yard, fully equipped with a dedicated coffee station including a professional Breville Expresso Coffee Machine. Toaster, sandwich maker, juice maker.

Laundry - Fully equipped with wasther/dryer

Fans in every room + heating.

Exterior areas, garden with fire pit.


The Family have been busy over the past 3 years building this master project; basing themselves on natural and healthy building principles and energy efficiency. Exclusively salvaged and recycled materials have been used with an emphasis on thermal performance and comfort.

The project hasn’t quite finished with an upper level to complete, but the area on offer is perfect to ensure you have a relaxed and comfortable stay. Please be aware only have the ground floor available for now.



The street is located in a quiet, leafy northern suburb of Melbourne, within 7 km of the CBD.


You will feel so at home with everything at your doorstep in this abode oozing with character, charm & Mediterranean feeling 💃

Cute and quirky hacienda

This place is so cool and really well-equipped for a group stay. We had a great weekend, basing ourselves in Preston to explore the surrounding suburbs. I could’ve happily spent a rainy weekend indoors enjoying the quirky mud bricks, modern facilities, thoughtful inclusions and well equipped kitchen. Thanks for your great hosting and easy check-in process.
