Not great
The good: the property is in an excellent location. Easy to walk to places. The apartment is spacious, especially the dining and lounge areas and it was good having a proper kitchen in which to make meals.
The not good: there were several issues which on their own, were minor, and when combined, made the stay not great. The cleanliness was not what you would expect, given the high cleaning fee (the host told me the apartment would be 'sparkling'). On check in, I found a cigarette butt on the balcony and detritus on the floor. There were several very noticeable and large stains on both couches (the host said the previous guest caused this). A bathroom exhaust was caked in dust. There was no coffee machine, even though it is on the Stayz listing (I have a screenshot of this - the host denied it). A towel rack fell down.
The wi-fi did not work. When I raised this with the host, they said that the previous guest 'drained the data'.
I noted concerns with the host during my stay, in response to their message asking for feedback. They blamed the previous guest, told me I wasn't in a hotel (in fact, nearby 4 star hotels were cheaper - I checked during the stay) and said they'd let the cleaners know. I offered to email them photos of the issues. The host has not supplied me an email address. I requested a refund of the cleaning fee. The host has not replied to that either.
While I enjoyed my time in Melbourne, I do not recommend this apartment. You can do better for less.
