“The hotel lobby and the room I stayed in had been recently refurbished. Other areas of the building were tired and not to the same standard. The tap water in the room ran yellow for a while and the shower didn't drain. The hotel is under refurbishment so hopefully when it's complete the experience will be consistent throughout. On a whole, it was good value for money but not as modern/fancy as the pictures portray.”

“This was a great stay. A beautiful heritage property. Felicia and her Paul were fantastic hosts. We stayed with our son his wife and their 22 month old toddler. They could not have made us more welcome. Felicia was very accommodating about breakfast and other things as our son was running the Cheshire held marathon. The breakfasts were all delicious. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.”

“On arriving I was the outside appearance was a bit of a shock and I doubted wether as a single female traveller to stay there was some rooms where the curtains in the windows was torn down , broken chair outside , some of the other guests was outside let's just say was enjoying a few pints etc but I gave it a benefit of the doubt and went and checked in so I could see what the room was like before making a disision wether to not stay. “The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.”

“The staff were very welcoming even when we arrived very late (23:50) somewhat wet and bedraggled after a horrendous drive in the rain up the M6. We were met with an understanding smile and given clear directions to our room. The room was clean and warm with a comfortable bed. The room overall was a little tired. We would be happy to stay again.”

“There is no reception at the property so you need to be a bit more prepared than I was when you arrive. You need your key code to hand - which is easier to do before hand not when stood in the rain after a long drive with no reading glasses and little patience. That overcome (the info is in a mail and you can re-request) the room was of a good standard and the bed was really comfortable and the shower was hot and with good pressure. “Lovely hotel for a few days while at a wedding. Clean and spacious room with effective shower. Coincided with the Chester Folk Festival in the village, so evenings were really lively. As we were with friends in the village, we didn't have a main meal at the pub / hotel, but my daughter's snack was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices.
