We’d love to welcome you to Tenuta Petrea, the luxury, private wing of our farmhouse in the tranquil Apulian countryside where, we’d like to think, your every whim has already been catered for.

Nestling in the heart of the stunning, protected hills above Monopoli on the Adriatic coast, on the fringes of the famed Valle D'Itria, Tenuta Petrea is a private, luxury retreat for two set within our fully organic 20 acre estate with its olive groves, numerous nature trails, Macedonian oaks and picnic spots.


Live the dream...

Wake up in air conditioned splendour after a sound night’s sleep night between Frette sheets on the leather sleigh bed.

Move to the huge open plan living space that overlooks the pool and rolling Apulian countryside and make yourself an espresso on the Ascaso machine or a cup of English tea in a proper tea pot.

Lose yourself in Petrea's vast, opulent bathroom - there’s a slipper bath and shower, both for two (!) - whose water has been heated by the southern Italian sun.

Sit back and relax with a book and a glass (or whole bottle!) of complementary prosecco on the huge Natuzzi sofa in the living room, or snooze the afternoon away on the daybed of one of your two private terraces outside.

Go for a walk around the farm or swim under the stars in our saltwater pool, then come back in to cook in your handmade, fully equipped bespoke kitchen before dining in your own courtyard while you watch the sun go down.


A world apart...

You have your own private entrance and parking and can come and go as you please. And although the pool is technically shared, as we have our own aperitivo and dining spots elsewhere around the farmhouse, and are so fair skinned we never ever sit out in the sun, in reality the pool will be almost exclusively yours (although we do occasionally emerge for a swim!).


Location, location, location...

Despite being a wildlife haven in the middle of the countryside, we are far from isolated. Polignano al Mare on the Adriatic coast, along with historic Monopoli and its surrounding beaches, including the lidos and restaurants of Capitolo, are only fifteen minutes by car (ten if you drive like an Italian) with the world famous resort of Borgo Egnazia and its spa and golf course next door.

Handily situated between the airports of Bari and Brindisi (both under an hour away), Tenuta Petrea is also ideally located to explore the wider Puglia region. The Unesco World Heritage town of Alberobello is a ten minute drive away, with fellow Valle D’Itria gems Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca a mere hop skip and a jump beyond. Matera, also a Unesco World Heritage site, and famed for its caves and association with Bond, lies approximately an hour west.

We know how stressful modern travel is and especially those last hours and minutes getting to your destination.

Which is why we provide you with a basic holiday starter pack to make sure that that first evening will go smoothly no matter if your plans go awry.

Complementary bottle of chilled house prosecco? Check
Honesty bar complete with mixers and ice? Check
Simple first meal of pasta and home made sugo? Check
Fresh bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and preserves for the following morning? Check

All just in case your plane is late or you don’t have time to hit the supermarket before you arrive. (Supermarkets here, BTW, are open late on Saturdays and some all day Sunday so you’ll never starve. This is Italy after all. But just in case...)

The long and short of it is we don’t want you to rush or stress and hope that knowing the basics are already in place for a relaxing first evening if all else fails will make your journey to us that little less stressful.

In addition, we provide sumptuous 100% cotton towels (including beach towels), robes, slippers and complementary toiletries.

Finally, we live in a separate part of the Masseria so we're on hand for any problems, questions and recommendations. This is your holiday and we want to make it the best it can possibly be. We are here to help.
