  • This Beautiful 1,200 square foot log cabin retreat is now under new management. This cabins previous 4.87 star review speaks for itself, as it offer a peaceful stay a in wooded setting within a quarter mile of M-123 and 15 minutes from St. Ignace. There are numerous attractions, parks, museums, markets, stores and services located in the Area! Guests are also welcome to use gas grill and fire pit. Internet also provided. Enjoy the entire cabin with full kitchen, bathroom, laundry, loft, as well as front and back decks. There is plenty of parking space for cars, trailers, snowmobiles, and ATVs.

Great location and space

We loved the location, and the house-has a few plumbing issues (more water came out of the spigot than the shower head) hard to turn on cold water in the bathroom sink-everything else was great! My pup loved it!

Perfect location for a UP adventure with the family.

The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and well supplied, beds were cozy. Nice yard with a large fire pit. Host was good, and reasonably responsive. Check in and check out were very easy. Absolutely would stay again if the opportunity presents itself!

Already booked our next stay

We had a great trip, the cabin was cozy, clean and beautiful. The host very responsive and thorough. We took advantage of the local shops, hiking trails and ventured to Tahquamenon Falls along with Whitefish Bay. All in all, we were very pleased and look forward to coming back. Highly recommend.

Fabulous cabin!

We loved staying here. Most importantly, it was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen was great and easy to use. My favorite part was the den...we'd open the blinds and have a bit of the outdoors inside. Loved the light and being able to watch the woods. We mainly did Mackinac Island. very easy drive to St. Ignace. Really appreciated the peace and quiet at the end of the day to relax. Brevort Lake down the road is lovely. Would love to explore more in the area. Thanks for a wonderful place to stay

Nice cabin

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had everything we needed and it was very clean!! We stayed in the middle of August so temperatures were just right. There is no central air, but wasn’t an issue for us during our stay. Fans worked fine in the evenings. WiFi was spotty, so watching a movie was slightly annoying but besides the WiFi, the cabin was a great choice for us.

Anniversary getaway

Great location! Close to St Ignas and other local attractions. Cabin is nice and private. There are neighbors close but didn't even notice they were there. Bonus one of the few places that allow pets including dogs. Nice cabin with a big firepit (one nights worth of firewood provided) could have been a little cleaner. Grill was not in working order.Also no matches or basic spices. Town was so close it wasnt an issue.

Nice looking building. Front porch and furniture need uodating. Overgrown weeds in front of house. My husband weeded out do future comers will see a better impression. Kitchen nice. Needs small glasses as none. More wine and drink glasses. Update spices etc. Bathroom (only tub) needs hand rails for using shower. We didn't use as too dangerous without. Carpets and living room need total updating. It says 2 bedroom but that includes loft bunk beds. Living room needs uodate to be cozy...very stark bedroom lower has tv tables for side tables by bed. Back deck nice but bring baby gate as no gate across opening. The cabin accommodations 2 people and children up but that's probably it.

Brevot Lake Cabin

Very nice kitchen, clean and everything worked. Occupancy may be overstated. We found futon unusable for adults. Steel bars that hold up mattress are very uncomfortable. Was not clear how to make if fold flat. Might be OK for a small child who does not weigh much.

The cabin is absolutely beautiful. The host didn't give us code to get in the cabin or address until an hour before we got there. There was no information on what we were expected to do at check out. I sent messages that the host did not respond to, other than to say "take garbage to end of driveway." Also there was an ant infestation when we got there & we bought ant traps. Host denied ever having an ant problem, but there was an old ant trap beside fridge and previous guests complained of bug issue in guest book. He did say he would call somebody to spray. There were ants until we left.

The cabin was conveniently located for the ferry to Mackinac Island and the sand dune beech. We enjoyed the deck and front patio and had plenty of room for the four of us. The cabin was fairly secluded, but there was a neighbor very close, and we could easily hear their conversations from the deck. We were disappointed by a few things:-We had an ant issue almost immediately. While there were a couple of traps set up, these were not enough.-There was only about a half a roll of toilet paper left for us, and the host said there were no spares provided. -The kitchen garbage drawer was broken when we arrived. There was only one garbage bag provided. -The beds had dirty sheets crumpled on them, and there were sheets in a heap in front of the washer too. -It was noticeably not vacuumed.Overall, it was a nice cabin and good location, but some of the details were disappointing.

Very nice log cabin with a few faults.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon and we booked this cabin months ago. PROS. We both agreed that we would love a cabin with the same layout but a couple hundred square feet bigger. It’s a nicely laid out floor plan for 2 adults and younger children. Nice kitchen and family room.The bedroom is fine for a vacation visit and the upstairs is also nice. CONS. We found evidence of a small grey freeloader in a cabinet. Living on a farm with animals and pets I’m use to them but I keep them out of my house. You cannot pull hard enough on the pull knob on the bathtub faucet to get the shower to come on at more than a trickle unless cold showers are your thing and unless you are an in-and-out type the barely warm water isn’t going to last long and the tub drains poorly.While there is almost nothing on 3 sides of the cabin, I watched deer roam through the woods in front of it a couple times, you are all but on top of the neighbors on one side. In four days we heard their dogs or them maybe 3 times and only during the day.The cookware and glasses had to be washed before they could be used.

Not as expected.

Based on previous read reviews and the listing, our expectations were high. We arrived late in evening and there was no water on, limiting bathroom use and water. They did have to send a plumber the next day when we were off to check out the island. Cabin is a cabin but outdated and very worn/used. (Loose chairs, holes in window screens covered with tap, worn deck, cupboards loose/falling off, etc) Coffee on either patio was not a pleasure as the septic bed is right there and wind was blowing it non-stop. Coffee pot didn’t work but there was a keurig machine for single cups. Location is great and the fire pit was nice as patio was not. Updated appliances in kitchen. Grill is not for use, it is covered in rust and hole on the grate - I would state that as a “use at own risk”
