“The spot is pretty much in the center of San Pedro, so it is very conveniently located. The hotel doesn't really offer much but if you're just looking for a place to crash the night in, it is a good option. Shower was surprisingly good but the rooms overall were mediocre. The owner is a nice guy and I would recommend this place for anyone just passing by and needed somewhere to stay over at for a few days. ”

“Visitors must be aware of the steep, difficult climb from the main road. Fit folx in their 20s and 30s won't be too fussed, but we're pretty fit for our 50s and it was a real effort. Handrails leading up to the yurts would make an excellent safety addition. We stayed in the top yurt (#4) and the views are tremendous and worth the big climb. We requested breakfast delivery in the am and it arrived on time! Delicious. Recommend this relatively new destination!”

“This was one of my favorite hotel stays in 30 years of global travel. I’m a budget traveler that values natural beauty and unique locations over fancy amenities or 5 star service, so that’s my reference point. La Casa del Mundo is located on a beautiful part of Lake Atitlan with amazing views throughout the day and night. “I couldn't have asked for a better view of the lake! This hotel also offers a generous breakfast included, a restaurant where you can eat until 8 PM, Tuktuk service, and organized tours. There's also a small library where you can borrow books. My room had a very comfortable bed and a bathtub with a window overlooking the lake. The only thing missing are curtains to darken the sunlight that enters at dawn and to ensure more privacy. Definitely recommended.”
