Nuovo! Chalk Creek Canyon Bighorn Lodge

Benvenuto a BIGHORN LODGE e alle cabine di Jo Love Meadows! Questa casa di tronchi, di nuova costruzione, si trova su Jo Love Ranch ed è adiacente a Sharon's Meadow. Questa zona è ampiamente conosciuta per la sua ampia varietà di fauna selvatica, tra cui pecore bighorn, cervi muli, alci e altri piccoli giochi. La casa di tronchi è circondata da panorami mozzafiato e sono tutti tuoi attraverso ciascuna delle finestre! Le sorgenti termali di Mt Princeton si trovano a soli 3 km dal lodge.
Storia
 Jo Witchey fu attratto dallo splendore delle Montagne Rocciose e si trasferì da Mansfield, nell'Ohio, a Denver. Nel 1925, Jo si trasferì a Chalk Creek Canyon, dove vette di 14.000 piedi incorniciavano la valle. In una salita del Mount Princeton (14,197 ') incontrò un wrangler e una guida di caccia di nome Mark Love, che in seguito sposò. Comprarono un piccolo ranch a Chalk Creek Canyon, iniziarono un campeggio per i vacanzieri estivi e lo chiamarono Love Ranch.
Dopo quattro anni di matrimonio, Mark fu ucciso in un incidente a cavallo. Sebbene Jo avesse il cuore spezzato per la morte di Mark, rimase per oltre 40 anni a gestire il ranch e intrattenere gli ospiti. Un ospite frequente e amico di Jo era Alex Haley, l'autore di Roots, e il presidente Dwight D. Eisenhower ha visitato una cabina inclusa nel complesso del Bighorn Lodge.

The. Best. EVER.

By far the BEST home we have booked in over 20 years of renting. We ALWAYS forget something- this home had everything imaginable in the kitchen including spices etc. So grateful for the level detail the owner/ mgmt company provided our short 3 days was perfect! I’m from Philly- we gathered around the TV (1 of 4 in the home) and our loudness couldn’t annoy anyone (except my hub- always one in the fam lol).

Christmas With Family

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It has everything we needed and enough rooms for all the family. Beautiful location. Loved getting up to see the mountains being hit by the sun and looking at the stars at night.

Gods country!

Love the location, views are beautiful. Convenient drive to the hot springs. Make sure you have you groceries if you don’t want to drive 20-30min to town. We all enjoyed our time here. Recommendations - remove snow and ice from the patio with grills on it. Post instructions so people will clean the grills when done. Improve accuracy of post.

Absolutely Amazing

The pictures on line do not do this property justice. Its located in a perfect area nestled between two mountains with a gorgeous open field in the front. The cabin is much bigger than the pictures show, plenty of room for everyone and its beautiful in side. The shuffleboard was a hit with the entire family, nice touch. The property manager Brent, is available any time of the day and is so nice, We will be renting here again for sure.

Excellent location and setting!

Everything was in spotless condition and the managers were in contact with us. The location was excellent. Deer & Bighorn sheep would graze in the field every evening next to the cabin.

AMAZING FAMILY RETREAT

It was wonderful! Plenty of room, well stocked with dishes & towels. It rained, it snowed even. We had enough of everything to be comfortable.Lots of wildlife sightings. So much fun had by all.

Beautiful Home!

This home was as amazing as I'd hoped it would be. Beautiful log home with tons of space, easy check in and out, great kitchen with everything you need and views that make you not want to leave. Everyone in our group loved this home!

Christmas 2020 Getaway

The Bighorn Lodge would be ideal for a mountain retreat any time of year. We chose the week of Christmas for our family gathering. The property offered all amenities that we could possibly hope for, with the exception of a hot tub. We stayed plenty warm on the coldest of days and really enjoyed the southern exposure sunshine on the front porch. A drink on the porch following one of my daily hikes was just what the doctor ordered... The Christmas Day shuffleboard tournament was a most memorable event (the shuffleboard was an excellent addition to the property). I could go on and on with a list of property highlights and highly recommend The Bighorn Lodge for your next mountain getaway.

Beautiful Location!

Could not ask for a better location! Would have loved to sit and relaxed right at the cabin, had time allowed. Will make same complaint about beds not being the most comfortable, but the house had plenty of room for a large group. We loved the shuffleboard table and loft area! Served as a good base location for our few days of Jeeping and exploring town!

Honest review

We loved the place however they could upgrade the beds is my only complaint. With the money they charge per night and all the extras fees I expected a bit more as far as beds. However we had a great time despite the covid -19 out break everything was closed so we had to stay at the cabin mostly. The deer were Amazing. It was over all a great time just getting away from home! Host was great! I'm glad he talked me out of trying to cancel due to covid -19 outbreak
