The Helm, Unit 1/22 Voyager Close

La posizione - The Helm si trova all'estremità occidentale della pittoresca Shoal Bay Beach, attraversa l'erba e sei sulla spiaggia. Sei anche a soli 500 metri dalla piccola spiaggia adatta alle famiglie per nuotare in acque tranquille, picnic e barbecue o ad un chilometro dai negozi, caffè e ristoranti di Shoal Bay. Inoltre, a pochi minuti di auto da Nelson Bay ci sono negozi boutique, altri ristoranti e caffè e il porto turistico. 

L'unità - Basati in questa unità rinnovata al primo piano per una pausa rilassante, con viste sull'acqua filtrate. Ci sono viste dal balcone, che ha un barbecue elettrico per cucinare e mangiare all'aperto. Luminoso, esposto a nord, piano aperto, zona giorno climatizzata, con ventilatore a soffitto, TV a schermo piatto e lettore DVD, tavolo da pranzo a sei posti e cucina completamente attrezzata con forno a microonde, piano cottura, lavastoviglie e frigorifero pieno. Camera per la famiglia in due camere da letto (principale con un letto matrimoniale e ventilatore a soffitto e la seconda camera da letto con due letti singoli) e un bagno moderno con doccia, vasca e servizi igienici separati, oltre a una lavanderia con lavatrice e asciugatrice e una stanza con WC, lavandino e specchio. Parcheggio coperto per un'auto in un posto auto coperto singolo.

Great Location

Great Location. Beautiful Beach. Continuously hear the gorgeous sound of the waves. Unit clean but definitely take your own decent coffee and coffee plunger. A bit skint on tea bags, sugar etc. We are 2 adult friends who regularly B&B at different locations and its definitely very welcoming to be met with little extra touches like decent coffee & milk.

Carpet smelt of age and was torn. Single beds were so small, feet hung over the end obviously they were for children. No bath mats or hand towels. Extra charges would apply for a number of simple things if you didn’t comply. View was good and neighbours were friendly. Wouldn’t stay there again. Also we’re bombarded with what we could and could not do! Easy walk to Shoal Bay.

Short Getaway

The listing was quite accurate and the place was nice. Although subjective, the pillows were a bit too big for us and we woke up with a stiff neck. Otherwise, our short stay was good and served our holiday well.

Basic Accommodation for inflated price

Location is perfect however this apartment is not up to scratch for the price. We provided feedback to the owner via the leasing agent and never received a response which would indicate the owners have no intention of fixing any of this. List of issues: Oven doesn't work BBQ very dirty on arrival Kitchen items very basic, not even a proper salad bowl or platter Apartment not clean Leaking shower Vacuum smells like vomit when in use Washing machine moldy Very disappointing.

Great Place to Relax

As the place’s management operates through a call Centre (in the Philippines ?), the people’s English was sometimes less than clear and we received some conflicting information on check in, etc. and less than timely (in my view) information. Our face to face dealings in Nelson’s Bay on check out was very off handed. The property it self was very good and we would book it again, Now we know what to expect.

Stayed for 4 days, perfect location- right next to the beach, apartment had all the amenities needed for a young family. Washing and dryer was a great plus. Were provided clean linen and towels at the beginning of the stay. Would have preferred if more dishwasher detergent was provided and table wipe provided. Apartment had a general clean done, but not at thorough wiped or vacuumed as expected as still felt sand on the carpet bit vacuums myself as vacuum was available. Overall still happy and would recommend.

Comfortable apartment

This apartment was comfortable and spacious. It was lovely falling asleep and listening to the sounds of the ocean. The only comment I would make is that the furniture is dated- in particular the living room furniture- which needs an upgrade. This impacts the impression is cleanliness. But otherwise, we were very comfortable here!

Nelson’s Bay

Great location on beach front. For the price we paid per night a bit disappointed considering the following: there were a lot of plates, coffee cups and glasses that were not washed. A film of grease on the plates, coffee and tea stains with mouth marks all over the coffee cups, and glasses with grease and lipstick marks. Before we used any dishes had to put the whole lot through the dishwasher. There was also no kettle, so we boiled water in a pot. When we opened the window shutters and windows in the bedrooms there was mould on the shutters and mould and dust build up on the window sills. And we had to make our beds on arrival and put all rubbish out and pack away all dishes on our departure. Indeed very expensive for a place where we had to literally service our stay with amenities that were unclean or not even made available.

Shoal bay beach stay

Lovely position between Nelson & Shoal Bay. Comfy bed. Warm. Brilliant views. Well equipped but unfortunately the cooking pans & cutlery could do with replacing - they put us off when cooking our meals.
