Come and rest at Maitai Whare Iti - Group booking of 4 wooden cabins and a 2 bedroom house in the heart of the native forest.

Accommodation Arrangements
Kereru - 2 bedroom house with a queen bedroom and a bunk bed with double on bottom and single on top. Has its own bathroom, lounge and kitchen.

4 cabins Tui, Korimako, Kotare and Piwakawaka all have similar layouts - Have a queen mattress on a mezzanine floor accessible by ladder. Then downstairs there is a sofa bed which can be used for sleeping on. All cabins are self contained with a toilet & shower. They also have a small tea & coffee making area with a mini fridge. The cabins are nestled in the forest above the main house and are accessible by foot only, 2mins walk up a steep pathway.

Ruru is the shared kitchen area - with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, table and young kids toy area.

We are pet friendly

Our goal was to set up accommodation for those who wanted a relaxed atmosphere. Somewhere people could use as a base while they adventured in the local area and come back to in the evenings to share their stories around a camp fire (fire season permitting) and recharge in the natural surroundings.
The peace and quiet of the valley, the native bush on the property, the accessibility to Nelson and what the rest of the Tasman area could offer are all key attributes to the formation of Maitai Whare Iti.
