“Nice room with lots of character, a well prepared breakfast with ample choice you only had to ask Robin and he would try to cater for any taste, The location was ideal only a short walk to the centre, and many places to visit in the surrounding area. Robin was a most genial host and a wealth of knowledge about the area, will be returning again”

“Stayed over for a night whilst travelling back from a trip to Scotland. A great B & B which I can’t recommend highly enough. From meeting Susan on arrival where she showed off our room. Whilst cosy, everything was pristine! A comfy bed and great breakfast the next morning topped off a great stay. Not forgetting the pub attached……where we had our evening meal and probably the best Beef and Ale pie we’ve ever had with great personal service too. We’d highly recommend the Rose & Thistle and look...

“The bed and breakfast experience lived up to its billing with prompt and excellent service from Michelle whenever requested. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of choices and the rooms were kept tidy with the suite providing the opportunity to relax in private. ”

“Not much could be improved upon at this beautiful, immaculate, well-organized B&B. Uta was delightful. The room & toilet were lovely, spacious, and wonderfully decorated. The view from our room (and even the toilet!) was one of the grand memories of our trip. Parking was in an enclosed area and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. You won't go wrong here!”

“From the moment I arrived the hosts could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is both quiet and yet convenient for local attractions. The rooms were spacious, light and airy. The breakfast was magnificent with freshly cooked local produce - some home grown. There is plenty of information provided regarding local sights and restaurants. Douglas was more than will to help and advice at any time. If I ever return to the area again I would certainly stay here...

“Our overnight stay was satisfactory in that the bedroom and shower room were clean and of good standard. We had a few problems with the heating and had to move rooms a couple of times but were provided with additional heaters and the host did her best to sort things out. We spent a cosy night. We had a bar meal which was good pub grub and good value for money. Parking at the rear was convenient. Wifi was a little hit and miss but the weather was appalling and this may have accounted for...
