The host was great and responded to all of our questions and issues very quickly and let us check in early after our flight landed early. The space was great for what we needed, but I would note the floors are a little thin so you can hear residents above and below pretty easily.

This apartment is very cute. Great size for 2 couples. I had to ask the owner a question and he answered within a minute! The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and accessories. Bring your own food and make anything! Even a loaf pan! We were very happy with everything!

If you value being treated with basic dignity, stay far away from this property. The moment we stepped into the building, we were hit with a horrid stench — the unmistakable smell of decades of pets kept indoors combined with questionable hygiene. The staircase walls were covered in random splatters and showed clear signs of long-standing disrepair. That same odor greeted us the second we opened the apartment door, thinly masked by air fresheners plugged into every single room. But the real shock was the heat: the thermostat read 89°F when we arrived. This is a fairly large apartment, yet the only cooling comes from two small window AC units, one in each bedroom — the rest of the unit has no air conditioning whatsoever. Some people clearly have no understanding of what hospitality actually means, and hosts like this shouldn't be allowed to operate. The attached photos show just how dirty and neglected this apartment is — unfortunately, no picture can capture the smell.

Nice property, Great communication, close to everything

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There was lots of room for us to gather and spend time together. The hosts were super helpful when we had any questions or issues and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The property was close to Yale and the freeway, which made it easy to get around. The house was well appointed with everything we needed and was a great deal for the price.

Spacious, Clean, and Convenient

I had such a wonderful stay at this VRBO! The hosts were very communicative and even included a gift before I arrived because they had noticed one of the televisions did not work. I stayed here for a conference at Yale, which was about a 15 minute walk away. The VRBO was in a great area, it was super clean, and everything I possibly could have needed was there. Highly recommend, and would absolutely stay again.

Tough neighborhood; not convenient to Yale

If you're driving, this place is probably fine. But the house next door has bars on the windows. Not recommended for a visiting scholar or a woman who wants to walk around the neighborhood. The rental itself is well equipped, but there are no numbers on the units, so you have to guess which one is yours. One of the other tenants has a dog, so be careful if you have allergies. The neighborhood was rough enough that I didn't stay in this rental. Be careful.

I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here based on the safety of the neighborhood. We circled the block three times before determining that our safety was at risk. Houses had bars on windows, no trespassing and security signs, chain link fences with dilapidated exteriors and trash littered the street and yards. People were loitering up and down the street. And this was midafternoon. The house we rented looked in good shape and based on photos I am sure it was nice inside but we felt even unloading luggage from the car we would have been targets. We forfeited our rental fees and found a hotel. I messaged our host and respectfully shared my concerns. He replied back that some guests weren't accustomed to an urban setting. Maybe not, but I wasn't willing to take that chance.

We stayed for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and has all the amenities you could need. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and attention to detail, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only drawback was the security deposit. The full amount was charged to my card instead of being placed on hold, which is what I would normally expect. I now have to wait for the refund to be processed and returned to my card.

The host was super nice and thoughtful, when asked questions, she would answer right away. The house is historical, we got a chance to see the nice woodwork from the hardwood floor and kitchen cabinets. The rooms are spacious, and parking space is very large as well. The check in and check out instructions were very clear. The host really made our trip to New Haven easy and pleasant.
