“Fantastic break between Christmas and New Year. We stayed in the annexe across the road. Our room was dual aspect with a lake view. It was perfect for our needs for our two nights stay. Breakfast was very good. The location was close enough to stagger up the main road from Bowness without too much effort. My only issues are that we were under a room which sounded like an elephant on treadmill most of the second night. Try for the top floor if you can. I did overhear a couple mention the main...

“Just enjoyed a 3 nights stay. Absolutely gorgeous accommodation, tastefu decor and really spacious. We arrived and the hallway had the most gorgeous smell, our room was absolutely spotless and had a lovely homely feeling. A gorgeous giraffe lamp in the Snug! The bathroom was really clean and great products. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend to friends. Also the position is perfect and we had onsite parking.”

“Lovely hosts and welcome, we were able to check in early which was really appreciated on a cold day in January. Everything was sparkling clean, and the cooked breakfast and other breakfast options were all really good quality. Cherry on the cake was the included use of leisure facilities at the Old England. Really enjoyed our stay and plan to return. ”

“This was our 3rd stay at St John's Lodge and yet again it did not disappoint. Great location, great room (which was upgraded when we arrived, a welcome surprise), great breakfast and amazing service from the Hosts Rich & Ada. Having free access to the Local health club and spa is another fantastic bonus, popping in after a hike to utilise the jacuzzi is great! We couldn't ask for more from St John's Lodge, Rich and Ada are excellent hosts and couldn't do more for us. We hope to return again...

“A lovely apartment right in the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere. The accommodation was spotless, cleaning spray, washing up liquid and cloths were provided. The bed was lovely and comfortable. People have mentioned the stairs up to the apartment. They caused us no problem but if people have mobility problems I can understand they might be a problem. If we return to the area we would stay here again. I am glad I didn’t book somewhere in Windermere, this was five minute walk to the lake. ”
