“Shower need to be re-caulked. Coffee machine at breakfast delivered half water. No hot or warm water in the morning for a shower before 7:30- 8:00. Immigrant attendant didn't answer the front desk phone and was not helpful. Could barely speak understandable English. When I inquired about no hot water, the reply was: The maintenance man doesn't come until 8:30. No more La Quinta hotels for us. Don't recommend this hotel.”

“The staff was very positive and excited to see the guests. It's very refreshing to see people really enjoy their jobs. The variety and taste of the food was awesome as usual. The room was large and very clean. I love staying at Drury Inns during my travels!”

“Very quiet, conveniently located for shopping and restaurants, very short drive to Iowa City hospitals and clinics. Very clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast.”

“The location is good because it’s close to the university. The hotel room had a smell that did not go away. One of the towels had a stain. We had a double bed. The mattress to one bed was so bad you could feel the bed springs. So we moved to the other bed that was a bit better. If all you are doing is going to sleep there then I guess it’s ok. We did not have the breakfast or dinner so do not know how that was.”

“Overall clean. Staff in restaurant were very nice. The woman who made our coffee at Starbucks was amazing! You have to pay for parking and use your room key to get out of the parking garage.”

“Took 10 min for the front desk lady to even notice we were at the front desk there was no bell to ring, room keys deactivated almost instantly after using them for our room. Bed was itchy”

“I’m not sure how this hotel scores so well. It’s an aging property. My room was falling apart: the sink handle comes off in hand. The hot water handle doesn’t work, the shower was moldy. The lamp shades were all askew. Honestly this is what I have come to expect of a property rated 6 or lower. ”

“Only bad thing, the pull out couch was broken. Had to purchase a 2nd room for our kids.”

“The decor in our room was not what you would expect from a large hotel chain. The room was very comfy, and felt more like visiting a friend or relative's home. It was quiet, and all the staff was very helpful.”
