I thoroughly enjoyed my two-nights stay at Charlotte Hotel. The property is charming and in excellent condition. The breakfast I ate in the on-site restaurant was delicious. The location is conveniently located within walking of restaurants, cafe, pub and a community theater. I would definitely stay here again.

This is our first time staying at the Charlotte Hotel. I have wanted to stay for a long time, but it is a little more expensive than other hotels in the area. That being said, it is totally worth it, for the location and the adorable room/building. I was a little bummed that the restaurant was not open for dinner Sunday night nor was it open for breakfast Monday morning, but I understand that after the holidays things have potentially slow down and employees likely need time off. We had no human interaction whatsoever at check-in or check out, which was a little weird. We didn’t need any assistance so that was OK but it did feel a little empty. It was nice that they had a Keurig coffee set up down in the lobby. We were able to park right on the street directly outside of the hotel. We were a couple blocks from the wharf and enjoyed how close we were to restaurants and shops. We loved our breakfast at the Foggy Place Cafecito. They sell local art in the cafe, so definitely don’t miss that! We got the room with the queen bed and the twin bed and it was so comfortable and very cozy. It was clean and the shower was amazing! Onancock is a great little town with a sweet Gilmore Girls vibe. we plan on returning next year earlier in the season so that we may enjoy some of the local festivities. We would definitely stay here again :)

Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Onancock. Everything within walking distance! Surrounded by shops, restaurants, a short 5 min walk to the wharf. The hotel room was quaint and quite lovely. I do wish we'd have been alerted that the bar and restaurants i side would be closed on Sunday Monday tues. Aĺl the days we stayed unfortunately, so i can't review this "amenity ". Check in was done without staff, a simole envelope was awaiting our arrival with a key. The staff was available with a si.ole call for questions, which we did require as a quest locked the main doors and we were locked out of the building. Fast turn around by a very sweet girl came 30 mins later and let us in, as well as made guests aware to please not do this. Rooms were spotless, bed comfortable - Everything we required. Two quick notes. Not negatives, but definitely a "need to be aware". There js no elevator, only stairs. We were on the 3rd floor. So you must bring up your luggage as well as yourself "manually". :) For us no issue, but could be an issue for other guests. On our way out, a sweet elderly woman was checking in and looked quite flustered at the prospect of dragging her luggage up even one flight. My husband gladly offered and all was well. He took luggage, i helped the sweet guest to her room. But isnt this truly what small town living should be? Helping our neighbors. We will most definitely stay again. And we will be back as we fell in love with the area and the locals alik

Hotel was clean but quirky. It’s an older building and they’ve done what they can with it but things end up being a bit weird, like the shower hose dropping directly out of the ceiling and that same ceiling’s paint job still unfinished. Others may call it quaint and that’s probably fair.

A Quick Stay

We arrived a little bit before the restaurant was supposed to close, but the friendly staff was able to prepare a meal for us and giving us some ideas for breakfast before leaving. Very friendly staff.

A Very Enjoyable Get-Away

Small but comfy, quiet, and clean room. We enjoyed Mallards for dinner & sunset and The Foggy Place and Corner Bakery for breakfast. A short drive to catch the ferry to Tangier Island, where we had an enjoyable day.

Can’t rate the staff since there is no reception desk or anyone at the entrance. An envelope with my name and instructions was left on the shelf when I “checked in”. Location was great, bed and pillows were super comfy.

Step Into charming and slower paced small town America. Beautiful accommodations and surrounding shops and restaurants. Walk to the marina , coffe bar art studios and eclectic shops. Savor the slower paced friendly hometown feel of the village and than dine and relax in an elegant historic charm of The Charlotte Hotel , a hidden gem .

This is a quaint b&b-style hotel in a charming town. The room was comfortable and sufficient. There's no fridge or kettle in the room, but there's a Keurig downstairs and baked goods from the bakery next door. There was a pub across the street, and we thought the festivities might keep us up, but everyone turned in early and it wasn't an issue. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Great place!

The room was just what we needed for over-night. Very comfortable king sized bed and a great shower. Quiet too. We would stay here again.
