“I've never encountered more thoughtful and friendly staff in my life. Even in a country known for hospitality, the staff here shine brighter than all the rest. The room was amazing too. Walk-in shower! Lots of things to see and places to eat in walking distance. And the station is barely a block away. Id say it's worth visiting Kyoto just to stay at this hotel. ”

“Molto grazioso, eccellente la cucina kaiseki. Cena da provare! Comoda la posizione, 30' di taxi falla stazione centrale, altra stazioncina vicinissima. Foresta di bambù a due passi e, se avete fortuna, in agosto c'è il Daimonji Fire Festival, molto suggestivo.”

“Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!”

“If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relative’s house in the small town. It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again.”

“I have never stayed in a hostel before, so I was filled with trepidation about what the atmosphere would be like. I need not have worried, Mulan Hostel was perfect, spotlessly clean, modern throughout. A quiet and peaceful sanctuary. Mulan Hostel has set the bar very high, fantastic!! Thank you.”

“The room was within walking distance from the bamboo forest and local restaurants. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. The staff were really nice and very helpful and patient.”

“This hotel is truly like stepping into another world. The service is impeccable, the room we had was gorgeous and superbly clean. We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai. All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!”

“La fermata dell’ autobus è a due passi, un po’ distante dal centro ma grazie ad i mezzi pubblici non ci sono problemi.Il personale è gentile, ci ha offerto gli asciugamani tornati dal giro quotidiano per farci asciugare dalla pioggia... ci ha tenuto le valigie prima del check inn e le abbiamo ritrovate in camera ben sistemate. Bagni puliti, Wi-Fi buona, stanza fumatori. Bene in generale.”
