“Booked as got stuck on the A303, nice staff, great breakfast and hard to argue with the price. My only minor criticism is being 6’3 the light they’d fitted to the single room was basically at face height so I cracked my head a couple of times getting in and out of bed. Otherwise would recommend for a cheap stay.”

“No wonder this inn is rated so highly, it's a wonderful getaway in a charming village. The lamb dinner and hot English breakfast were outstanding. Friendly atmosphere and very welcoming staff. Our room was spacious and clean. ”

“Gave us a friendly and enjoyable stopover for our onward journey to Cornwall. Food was lovely and breakfast included was very nice. Dog friendly with a nice walk across the road through surrounding fields. A lovely setting and would recommend if you’re wanting to break a longer journey up or looking for a weekend stop with your dog.”

It really was far too hot, and unfortunately this would deter me from returning in the summer season. Otherwise the stay was fantastic!”

“Very good location. All reception and bar staff really helpful. Room changed instantly when I discovered A Con not working. Bar staff went above and beyond to be helpful. Room v good comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. My second visit at this hotel will use it again.”

“I checked in on an incredibly hot day when the air conditioning wasn't working as it should. The lady at reception moved my room without being asked to make sure the room I was checked into had air con. When I got to my room, it had clearly been prepared with the heat in mind - the curtains were closed against the direct sunlight and a fan was running - the room was lovely and cool, a nice reprieve from the heat outside. Staff are polite and incredibly helpful. ”

“I love the concept of sustainability here and it has been implemented extremely well, whilst maintaining high standards. The tea/coffee/hot chocolate area on each floor rather than in rooms gave more variety, better quality and the refillable water bottle in the room to use for the filtered water at the refreshment station was excellent. The bed was so comfy and the room was excrptionally bright, airy and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming!”

“I stayed at this hotel for one night on a trip to Cornwall. I must say that the facility is well-maintained, and the room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is served. Normally, I prefer the buffet, but the service is fast and attentive. Let's just say that it lacked the wow factor to earn a fifth star. The hotel's location, although conveniently located directly on a link road and not far from the city centre, is not in a particularly attractive part of Exeter. ”
