“The room was spacious, spotless and had everything we needed, bathroom was also spotless and again had everything needed The staff are friendly and made us feel welcomed from arrival. The only thing that could be made better would be an addition of a full drench shower because there was certainly room for one”

“This is a room in a pub. But our room was to a high standard and almost large enough to be a suite. Absolutely in the centre of Whitby. Breakfast was good and hearty too. Could do with more power sockets in the room, though.”

“Nice hotel but couldn’t leave window open in room and it was roasting. If you go take a small block of wood to keep sash window open. Staff were very friendly. Was a bit noisy as events were being held but room was quiet. Good selection at breakfast and in bar n the little coffee shop was nice.”

“Ho passato una notte in questo ostello e decisamente lo raccomando sia per la sua suggestiva location che per la particolare atmsfera dell'ambiente che lo circonda. Davvero un posto particolare. Trattandosi di un ostello i servizi sono adeguati allo standard della struttura. Ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo. Ma , ripeto, il pezzo forte e' la posizione a fianco delle rovine dell'Abbazia che dominano la cittadina. Non lo consiglio a chi ama pernottare in centro citta' o in luoghi affollati e...

“Lovely spacious room. Very clean. Slight mix up with keys on arrival, but was sorted after phone call. Only minor grumble, advertised as having toiletries but there wasnt any.”

“The Nutshell is a lovely little place, perfect for a stay in Whitby. Great location close to the harbour and town centre. Very clean and everything you need, hob, oven and all crockery and utensils. Nice feel to the place, makes you feel like you’re at the seaside. Great communication with the owners. Would 100% stay again. I was there for a week and had a wonderful time.”

“Small B&B which is in a quiet area, but just of main routes so easy to find. There is sufficient off-street parking for guests which is a plus. Breakfast offers a good choice for all tastes and the breakfast room, at the side of the property affords sea views which adds to the pleasant feel of what is obviously a well run B&B. The room had a comfortable double bed, ensuit bathroom and provided with tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits.I was met by the host on arrival and given a tour so I...

“Absolutely lovely cottage, clean, cosy and in the perfect location. We have had a great time. Very steep stairs inside the property and a fairly short bed so if you are super tall with mobility problems it might be difficult but for us it was perfect.”

“Absolutely lovely stay at this property. We were only there for 1 night but can't reccommend enough. Tea, coffee and biscuits were left in the kitchen for us. TV in the living room was smart TV and there was a TV in both bedrooms. Beds were a tiny bit springy but still comfortable. Shower downstairs is a bit dated but still useable. Incredibly clean though absolutely no complaints on that front. Property manager was in touch and easy to contact. Some might be confused by the parking situation...
