Work retreat

The property was chosen as a site for an informal work retreat for 18 people and worked wonderfully well. The comparatively small group were able to have a room each with sufficient bathrooms. The open areas worked well for the meetings and discussions and the kitchen was perfect for group meal preparation. Everything was clean and tidy and we were introduced to the property by the attentive property manager who checked to see how things were going.

Great Venue

Perfect space and location for our leadership group of 11 to work together while still having space. Quiet location but close enough to walk to shops, food and coffee! Hosts were very flexible with our booking needs and super responsive to communication.

Queenscliff Rod Run

Our Club has been staying at Whitehall for about 17 years now, it really is a 2nd home. We love the open lounge area and balcony as it give us the opportunity to gather as a large group. It has all the ameneties we need and it's been great to see the improvements that have been made over the years that add to our comfort. Already booked for next year :)

great property for big group

This is the first time we’ve been staying in such a massive building. It has pretty much everything you need. We had 6 families staying together with little kids. There are plenty of rooms for the kids to play hide and seek, also with a commercial kitchen you can cook pretty much everything u want. The owner Anthony and Julie were very nice and helpful.

2019 Whitehall stay

This was our second time at Whitehall and it was just as good as the first. We had group of around 30, and it suited our activities well with smaller breakout spaces complimenting the larger dining and communal space. Industrial kitchen (incl. dishwasher) make it easier catering for large groups. Our stay was cosy and homely, and suited our group well.

Perfect host

Antony was a perfect host in many ways. We were there in bad weather with a large group and it was so nice to receive a message from Antony in the morning offer help and alternatives to assist in our program for the day. Venue is original, spotless, beautiful linen and a lovely experience. Enjoyed thoroughly.

Awesome venue for large groups

We were back for our third year at Whitehall and we love it! It is perfect for large groups, we can cook our own food and there is plenty of space in the large common room as well as lots of little comfy sitting areas both indoors and out. The owner always takes great care of us and we will be back again next year!

Excellent for large groups

We had a wonderful stay at Whitehall over the Easter break 2019. It was fantastic finding a property that comfortably suited my very large family. There were 29 of us. The huge lounge/dining area ensured we were all together every night, being able to eat together and all the kids loved the table tennis set up at the back of the room. The kitchen was well appointed and its size meant we could cater for everyone.

What a great time we all had at Whitehall Guesthouse. Amazing place that sleeps so many, we held a pre wedding dinner and post wedding breakfast, the kitchen is great for large groups. So close to everything in Queenscliff-we will be back later in the year for a family catchup!

Great location, and a fabulous place for our staff retreat!! Highly recommend.

House was clean and Antony was there when I got there to welcome and go through everything. Great kitchen and facilities. House was perfect for our big group. Love the table tennis table!!

Big old guesthouse, perfect for our whole family to spend time together

For my mum's 90th birthday she wanted to have the whole family together near the beach for a few days -20 plus people from 10 to 90 years old. This was the perfect solution. The living/dining room was big enough for us all to be in there at the same time - either all eating together, or groups of people playing table tennis, playing board games, reading, chatting, watching TV, etc. Big kitchen with heaps of bench space and huge fridges and fabulous fast dishwasher. Loads of bedrooms so everyone could find their own space to suit. Big balcony and a few smaller ones to hang out. Yes it's a bit old and imperfect and doors don't always close, but that really wasn't important. We had a wonderful long weekend and Whitehall was a large part of that success.

Spacious well equipped vintage guesthouse in a great location.

Perfect venue for a wonderful Family Christmas. Very well equipped kitchen, huge common lounge room, plenty of bathrooms, parking and space for us all. I I would highly recommend Whitehall for any large group.

Perfect choice for our university group

We had a great two nights at Whitehall for the induction of our student union representatives. The facilities were perfect for facilitating group sessions, enjoying down time and self-catering. Thank you Julie & Antony for a great stay, we look forward to next time!

Absolutely Fabulous!

Our large group of families just love Whitehall! This was our eighth stay over many years. It is the best place for adults and children alike to relax, prepare meals and party. Queenscliff is a beautiful town that continues to charm us. Thanks again Antony - we had a brilliant time and will be back.

A Wonderful Week-End away with the Family.

My family and I booked Whitehall for the week-end of September 14 -16 this year. The Whitehall Guesthouse has a rich history in Queenscliff, having been built in 1927. As such, any potential guests must be prepared for the establishment's character to be reflected in its age and appearance. In parts, this rambling old favourite looks every bit its age, and is quite tired and worn in appearance...like me! However, the location and overall space, the kitchen facilities, the main entertaining area are all ideal. The event was my 80th Birthday, and there were 23 in the party from my age, down to our youngest grandson who is approaching 8 years old. The linen provided was crisp and clean, and there was plenty of hot water and excellent heating throughout. Antony Heath, with whom we dealt, was a delight. Very co-operative and supportive. For the Saturday evening we decided to bring in a local caterer from the list provided by Antony, and we chose Salt Bush Caterers run by Bronte Allen. What a wonderful choice! The three course meal was superb. Bronte, assisted by her sister Sarah, prepared the meals in Whitehall's kitchen using fresh produce from the local area. They attended the tables in the main room where we dined, and cleaned up after the meal. All in all it was a memorable, and wonderful experience, one that I will not forget. A rambling old place that made one feel at home, much like a comfortable old pair of shoes, a wonderful chef, and one's family all around... what more could an Old Codger want? I would recommend it to anyone wishing to celebrate a similar occasion. Garry Howes
