“Really lovely staff and the check in experience was very pleasant. The room was just about acceptable in terms of cleanliness but the toilet was not clean and still had used paper in it. The room and the surroundings were very tired and beyond worn in some places, especially the carpet on the stairs which was very dirty. As there was no breakfast, we could not comment on it. It’s such a shame because the setting is quite pleasant and it could be a lovely place to visit. ”

“Great overnight stay at The George Hotel which is centrally located in the city and within walking distance of all the shops and attractions. “Another good stay. Well organised, clean and good food at reasonable prices. Only downside was that, on one of the hottest nights of the year so far, the aircon wasn’t enabled and so a hot, sticky night ensued. But a nice place to stay and Lichfield itself is a good place to visit. ”

Main area had a comfy double bed with plenty of space around it, bedside units, long dressing table and large tv. There was a big dressing area with clothes storage and then a good size bathroom. Rain shower was centred in the bath so one could move freely under the powerful spray.
We ate in the restaurant and found the meals to be generous, tasty and very good value. Bar prices were also...

“I wasn’t sure what to expect due to mixed reviews. However I had a ground floor room as requested. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and importantly for me the hairdryer was good. The bathroom had a bath with a shower. The overhead shower was powerfully enough and the water was hot. I wasn’t disturbed by noise, it was peaceful. My tv worked. Kettle was clean.
The only downside was my room felt a bit cold. I didn’t ask about the heating, maybe if I had they’d have helped.
