“This lodge is so comfortable, clean and renovated. The owners have provided everything that other hotels do not such as wine glasses and corkscrew, full length mirror and magnified mirror, overhead shower that’s also a jet spray, small refrigerator, and access to kitchen with homemade cookies, tea, coffee and candy. The grounds are charming with lots of spices for just relaxing. Our bed was very comfortable and room renovated and very clean. ”

The penthouse was phenomenal… very VERY Spacious, and offered all of the comforts of home with 2 bedrooms, kitchen area and plenty of comfortable seating. Nicely decorated w lots of attention to details. If we return, would 100% book this again!”

“An amazing place — maybe even the best we’ve tried so far! This beautifully cozy accommodation has been recently renovated, with an excellent level of cleanliness and a charming, welcoming atmosphere that carries a nostalgic, countryside feel. It truly created wonderful memories for us.
The check-in process was very smooth and pleasant. Even though we arrived early in the morning around 10 AM just to look around, they warmly welcomed us, checked us in, and handed over our room right away....

“By far, the best hotel in the area. (I read the reviews on the others & every one had reports of bugs within the past year!!) Very clean. QUIET. Rarely can I find a hotel where something in the room isn't waking me up all night...buzzing fridge, rattling a/c, etc. NOTHING in the room woke me up for the 2 nights I was here. Never heard the fridge. The a/c clicks on quietly & the fan runs with a soft, constant white noise. I did hear an elephant pounding around upstairs for about 30min at 1am on...

“We stayed the evening prior to an 8 am flight. Although it wasn't safe to walk to the airport, without crossing major highways, The hotel provided a reliable shuttle, we got there after a 5 min. ride, by 5:45 am. Perfect for our needs.”

“We really enjoyed staying at The Monte Vista during the Sourwood Festival. It was great to walk to town to eat and attend the festival. The hotel is old but very charming. It has a lot of stairs and no TV in some rooms, so be sure to book a room accordingly.”

One a very minor problem, as noted by others, is that the toilet required a long flush or multiple flushes. My problem is that I forgot to ask for additional towels. I checked in at night and by the time I noticed that I need extra towels, I didn't think anyone would be around who could fulfill that request.”
