“It’s very clean and very convenient for the airport but also very basic. We stayed twice, once on the way in and again on the way back. The room on the first visit was much better than the second visit. The staff are lovely.”

“Overall we had a good stay at the motel. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. Most parts of the experience were smooth and enjoyable. The only major issue was the airport shuttle service. We paid $15 to book the 6am shuttle to the airport, but it never arrived. We waited until 6:30am with no communication or update from the motel. In the end, we had to book an Uber ourselves for a very similar price just to make our flight. What was most disappointing...

“The kitchen is very dated and requires a refurbishment (and a couple of light bulbs as multiple were blown. Maybe a mouse trap or poison also, last morning there one mouse scurried across the floor to hole in the wall (kitchen). Room was fine, staff were nice. (Winds were awful through the night and destroyed some of the playground equipment). This is not our stay, previous stays were better. ”

“Golden hotel is the perfect stay once landing in Christchurch and before leaving again. Very clean and nice space. Staff is also responsive and kind with inquiries. There is a Vietnamese cafe right on the main lobby so very convenient for a quick pick me up. Overall, would stay here again so definitely recommend!”

“We did not order anything from the menu so cannot comment on that. However the condition of the rooms, size of the rooms for 3 adults was wonderful. Great kitchen with frypan, pots and a small oven/hotplate unit for cooking. Each unit has a small private outdoor table and chair set. There is a free laundry which was great as we had small children. There is a children's play area, beautiful grounds and the place was so handy to the airport and the northern part of Christchurch. “Service was very friendly and helpful. The upgrade was appreciated and the fact that I could checkin earlier after a long flight. Location is great close to a bakery in what seems like a good neighborhood. Bed was comfortable , heater in the bathroom was great Z soap, conditioner and shampoo provided. Maybe the only thing I would change is not charge extra for laundry as it’s off putting.”
