There was no way to contact the front desk unless you walked there yourself. We were told we could do an early check in, but when we arrived our room was not ready. “Hotel Maria Isabel in Ataco was such a cute, cozy family-owned stay. The hotel was small, peaceful, and had such a welcoming atmosphere. Our room and bathroom were both very clean, which we really appreciated. There was no AC and unfortunately the fan in our room didn’t work, so we had to keep the windows open at night. “We stayed here after hiking the Santa Ana Volcano. We were able to use the thermal pools for our aching bodies and got a massage a the spa. The food was not great but the service was good. Crazy roads leading up to the hotel as well. Otherwise the staff was very accommodating and the pools were great.”

“This is a great alternative for those who are already saturated from El Zonte / Surf city. Really nice staff, great vibes and amazing views and property. Totally recommend for anyone looking to disconnect for a few days. We did not surf but the waves were amazing!”
