“My husband and I were stunned the first night upon entering the home as the property was listed as entire home and it had the word bungalow in it. We thought we were staying in an attached private bungalow. We climbed 2 long flights of steps to the small bedroom and slept well that night. Currently, there is no dresser in the bedroom, just a closet. We suggested that she put one in and she was receptive to this idea. Our private bathroom was new, modern and very clean. “Great location, easy access to freeways and shopping. The dedicated parking was appreciated because the street parking was limited. Only suggestion for the residence would be to include more comforts such as bathroom mats (slippery floor) and some area rugs in the bedrooms Also hand towels and extra blankets would have been welcome. The toilet paper holder was broken but just a minor inconvenience. A coffee brew pot would make mornings better as well instead of having to go out to get coffee....

“I’ve been to 3rd world countries that are safer and cleaner than Oakland. With that being said, this property is located in the epicenter of Oakland’s homeless, drug, and violence problem. During our stay, we experienced the worst of it; vagrants and homeless encampments just steps away from the subdivision, and to top it all off, an active shooting. It also didn’t help that the property wasn’t properly sanitized and had leftover/open bottles of alcohol left in the fridge. When we complained,...
