Il Pico House è una tipica casa di campagna con tetto di paglia circondato di 3000 metri di terra e da frutto coltivati ​​alberi. Santana si mette di mezzo di bruciare (Forest Park) 5 minuti da Laurel foresta e preso e sentieri.
Il quartiere tipico è molto tranquillo e cordiale, sempre pronto ad aiutare.
Il supermercato locale è molto ben fornito e si trova a 5 minuti a piedi. Il centro della cittadina (municipio, farmacia, ufficio postale, polizia, centro benessere, negozi, caffè, bar e ristoranti) è a 10 minuti a piedi.
Molto facile accesso a vari percorsi intrapresi e (guide e mappe in casa).
Le spiagge di ghiaia (piccole e paffuto pietre) più vicine sono a 10 minuti d'auto, Faial e São Jorge, quest'ultimo con una piscina.
Pico House è stato costruito nel 1966 come casa per le vacanze. Il suo tetto di paglia, conservato con metodi tradizionali, la sua molto più grande e anche meglio attrezzate di case locali, per lo più riabilitati con piastrelle invece di paglia, lo rende quasi unico.
Quindi è un'esperienza al di là molto piacevole, piuttosto curiosa e insolita trascorrere qualche giorno di vacanza in questa casa.
Ideale per gli amanti della natura che vogliono rilassarsi ed esplorare le nostre bellezze naturali.
La casa dispone di 4 camere da letto di 3 singole e 1 doppia, un bagno completo con vasca, una cucina completamente attrezzata (non ci sono lavatrici e lavastoviglie) una sala comune e sala da pranzo. Al primo piano si trovano la camera matrimoniale e due singoli. Ci sono due scale di accesso al piano superiore, una interna e l'altra esterna.
La casa in inverno può essere fredda e dato che non ha il riscaldamento centrale ci sono diversi riscaldatori e riscaldamento per i letti dei letti.

We, a family of four plus a grandmother, stayed at the house 8 nights in the end of February and had a lovely stay. Both the house and the garden are beautiful and located in a stunning setting with mountains in the background.The house is well equipped with everything you need. The kitchen has a lot of utensils, spices, pots etc so cooking is a good option if you prefer. We felt it was a bit cold inside at times so a pro tip is to bring slippers or socks to wear. There are heating mattresses in all beds and a couple of radiators placed around the house. The garden has a lot of citrus trees, bananas, flowers etc and is well taken care of. There are tables, chairs and sunbeds so you can enjoy the outdoors when the weather is nice.The house is located a 10-15 minute walk from central Santana with restaurants, pharmacy and some shops. A big supermarket can be found 5-10 minutes walk away.We really enjoyed our stay and we feel it was a good spot for exploring the island, especially the north side. A rental car is a highly recommended if you stay in this house! need for a nice stay.

Fantastic authentic house on a good location. Close to supermarket and hiking spots. Rita is a superb host. The house is large with a nice garden. Perfect place to explore the north eastern part of Madeira!!

Très belle maison en toit de chaume bien situé en plein cœur de Santana. Séjour très agréable à part l’humidité ambiante (la météo n’a pas aidé à faire sécher nos vêtements).

If you want a quiet country hillside setting stay this is the place. The home is an older country home with thatched roof. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Was nice in the morning to have breakfast outside. Very close to Santana square (less then 5 min drive). Rita, bless her heart, was patient in helping me find the place. Also patient with helping me fix a blown fuse. Her gardener and his wife are close by and friendly and helpful. Overall I had a wonderful stay.

Rita hat uns persönlich begrüßt und sie hatte sogar Obst und Brot gekauft. Der Garten ist schöner als im Internet zu sehen. Wer gern ein rusticales Ambiente mag, ist hier genau richtig. Sehr angenehm waren die beheizten Betten. Schön wäre noch ein Shuttleservice zum Flugplatz. Rena und Hubert

We loved this house with its wonderful garden. It is unique. If you are tired of hotel rooms without atmosphere - this is the right accommodation for you. Not everything is perfect, but some things are unforgettable great. We loved to have our morning coffee in bed with open door and windows and listen to the awakening nature - the birds and the goat. Rita - the owner - is very friendly and helpful. She surprised us with some local food and drinks when we arrived. We felt very welcome ! We liked walking the levadas. The most beautiful is just 10 Minutes away ! So everything was perfect for us and we had a great time.

As this was our first visit to Maderia we had no idea where we were staying. The house was within an easy 30 min drive from Funchal Airport on a superb road. The house itself from outside was like something out of a child's fairytale. Thatched roof, old oak doors and white painted external walls. Inside on the ground floor there was a spacious living room with plenty of chairs, cupboards, television and heaters which is as well as they were needed nearly every evening. The kitchen had a modern cooker and fridge freezer and new electric kettle and coffee making machine. There were lots of pots, pans, cooking utensils and glasses. A first class kitchen. The bathroom/WC were also on the ground floor and were adequate. The water pressure was very low and it was a bit of an art taking a shower. There was also a small bedroom on the ground floor with a beautiful, if fairly small, four poster bed. Upstairs was reached by a narrow and steep wooden staircase. There were three lovely bedrooms one of which had a veranda and access to outside. The house was spacious and really lovely. The only complaint besides the water pressure was that it was rather dark at night even with all the lights on. There was facilities for sitting outside at the front and in the garden at the side of the house. The problem was that the sun, when it did shine, soon disappeared from the front and the side garden grass was left very long and was often wet. The worst thing about the house was the drive and entry on to the road. The drive was extremely narrow and fairly steep and the exit through the narrow gates onto the road was blind. You had to listen and hope nothing was coming up or down. I think a mirror opposite the entrance is a must! The house is set in wonderful quiet countryside, when you can see it through the low cloud. There are beaches (well what goes for beaches in Madeira), swimming pools, village bars, restaurants, wonderful walks and many other places to see within a few minutes drive. The road to the top of a 3,000ft plus mountain passes the bottom of the garden. The one thing that spoilt our holiday was that it was too cool to sit out in the garden in the evening and we had to go indoors and put the heaters on around 7-00pm. I loved Madeira and where we stayed, my wife was not so keen.
