Serene Lakefront Cottage Near Amazing Hiking Trails and Waterfalls

This charming lakefront cottage offers guests peace, serenity and stunning views from almost every room. Gas motors are not permitted on the lake, so you will hear only the sounds of birds, frogs and the little stream. There is a small private pier and a great firepit with Adirondak chairs overlooking the lake.

A partially covered deck stretches across the entire width of the house, facing the lake. It includes comfortable seating (sofa, chairs, ottoman) as well as a dining set and a gas grill.

The house is very easily accessed - just minutes off of highway 64 (no steep, winding gravel roads). It is one level and there are no steps to get into the house. Note that there are stairs to get down to the lake - a set of stairs from the deck or an outdoor staircase from the parking area to the yard. Once you are in the yard, it slopes gently down to the water.

The open living area is spacious and welcoming, including a gas fireplace, reclining chairs and sofa, HD TV with premium streaming services (including Max, Showtime, Starz, Netflix and more). High-speed wireless internet is available, as well as a great collection of board games, jigsaw puzzles and books.

The large cook's kitchen includes everything you will need to prepare wonderful meals to enjoy on the deck or at the indoor dining table. The kitchen has lots of cabinet and counter space, a conduction cooktop, a convection oven, a side-by side refrigerator with ice and water in the door, dishwasher, microwave, 4-slot toaster, electric tea kettle, coffee maker for ground coffee or Keurig pods, cocktail set, crockpot.

Both bedrooms open onto the deck facing the lake. They are comfortable, spacious, quiet and have room darkening curtains. Both are both ensuite (one bathroom also has a door into the living area).

The house is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on Hogback Lake. It is a short drive to amazing hikes and many waterfalls in Gorges State Park and Panthertown Valley. It is located on a quiet road with very little traffic (perfect for walks) but is just a 10 to 15 minute drive to restaurants, a farmer's market and the nearest grocery store. For additional shopping and dining options, explore the charming mountain towns of Cashiers, Highlands and Brevard (12 to 30 minutes away).
