Solitude in the Cedars, Spacious Mountain Home

Solitude in the Cedars. This cozy, but spacious, mountain home is nestled on 10 quiet acres of wooded forest giving you an extremely private feel. Located next to Sierra Cedars and a 10-minute drive from Shaver Village, this 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath cabin accommodates 3 families (6 adults and 6 children) very comfortably. The Great room with it's soaring ceilings, wood floors, massive rock wall and wall of windows offers plenty of space to gather in front of the fire and the large dining table expands to seat up to 12 people. The Great room wraps into the nicely appointed kitchen with lots of counter space, seating for 4 at the bar and all your food prep necessities. The large master bedroom on the ground floor has a king bed and large private bath with oversized tub, separate shower and double sinks. Upstairs find bedroom 2 with a king bed and queen futon sofa, bedroom 3 with queen bed and door to the upstairs covered deck, the "bunkroom" with bunk beds and full sofa futon, plus a loft/game area with pull-out sofa. Outside a large sunny wood deck with grill and large family table opens to the surrounding forest for enjoying beautiful summer days and warm evenings, clear sky stargazing year-round, horseshoes, and s'mores by the fire pit. In winter, enjoy sledding, snow ball fights, building a snowman on site. The mudroom off the garage is perfect for storing lake time toys and snowy day gear. This home has year-round access off an unpaved private road. The road is plowed during winter, but a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended in winter.

Activities Nearby: Shaver Lake is 15 minutes away where you can enjoy Camp Edison. They offer a full marina, rentals and beach day use areas for summer fun. China Peak is 45 minutes up the road for a winter day of skiing/riding. Explore the Dinkey Creek area, visit the historic Mill Camp or the famous giant sequoias at McKinley Grove. Enjoy fishing, hiking, and the many OHV trails. For great history of the area visit the Museum of the Sierras located at Camp Edison.

We had an amazing stay at this peaceful cabin in Shaver Lake! It was clean, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful forest. The open layout was perfect for our family, and the large deck over looking the forest was relaxing all times of the day. They even found our child’s stuffed bear lost in the bedding and mailed it back to us right away. Truly above and beyond! Super quiet, comfortable, and just a short drive to town—would definitely stay here again!

Great family gathering

Our three families gathered for a fun filled weekend at the most perfect cabin for our needs. The only reason I did not give the “accuracy” 5 stars is because the pictures/descriptions in my opinion do not do this place justice. It was absolutely perfect! Exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the sled hill, fire pit and exploring the property. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked more days! Great cabin, fully stocked with everything needed, very clean and comfortable with easy to contact host. We had no issues during our stay and loved that there was enough parking for our boat. 😊

Awesome cabin

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful and super clean. There was 9 of us and plenty of space for everyone. We had a blast one the Fogg family sledding hill. The cabin is close to town as well. Will definitely be back.

My family loved the cabin. We got to enjoy the fire pit, it was close to China peak, went on a hike on its own land. Has its own snow slope when there is snow. Kitchen was fully loaded.

New Years Mountain Fun

Me and my family had such a great time in this mountain home. The home definitely felt secluded, we felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We also woke up to snow on Saturday morning!! We honestly can’t think of anything that would’ve made our stay better. Everything was well stocked and the home had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

Beautiful Mountain Cabin

Beautiful cabin, fully stocked with all of the kitchen essentials. We spent alot of time on the deck and near the fire pit. It's a quiet and peacefull retreat that feels secluded, but still close to town. We loved staying here.

Home away from home

The house was gorgeous and it was so quiet, have nothing bad to say. All the kids had a blast and the little town was really close. The only thing i would say would be when you are using the gps don't stop when it tells you you need to go further up the road.

Serenity in the woods

This property was lovely. Surrounded by trees and streams, we enjoyed total privacy and a sense of tranquility. Located on 10 acres, it was private and perfectly suited for our needs as a family of 5. The house hit all the marks for a nice mountain vacation. It held up to the 4C standard- Clean, Classy, Cabiny, and Comfortable. Clearly this is a loved home. We stayed for 5 nights in mid-April. While there was still plenty of snow for sledding, the property was easy to access. The kitchen was well-appointed and one of the best we've enjoyed at a rental. We cooked 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed. The kitchen, dining, and living areas are all well-connected and conducive for family socializing. We enjoyed the games and puzzles and TV. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. Snowball makers were left out for the kids which they made quick use of. It is a short drive to town and about 30min to China Peak. After a few days on the mountain, the washer and dryer were much appreciated. This was voted by our family as our #1 favorite in the Shaver Lake area. I sincerely hope to stay again sometime.
