Remodeled 1938 Log Cabin – Walk to Sister Bay

We invite you to stay in our lovingly restored vintage Door County cottage. Historic, fresh and charming describes this remodeled log cabin built by a Norwegian immigrant in 1938.

This home is ideally located along the desirable Bay Shore Drive in Sister Bay! A short 5 minute walk into town allows you to take advantage of the park, marina, beach, boutiques, restaurants, ice cream / coffee shops and more, then retreat to the private quiet cabin to sit, relax and unwind. Additionally, we are centrally located in the county making visits to Gills Rock, Ellison Bay, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Egg Harbor and Bailey's Harbor all within a short drive (5-20 min).

This lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, cottage provides everything you'll need for a pleasant and relaxing stay. First floor: bedroom, open family / dining room, bathroom and kitchen. Upstairs: spacious bunkroom.

A large wrap around deck and front yard is a relaxing place to gather with family and friends...enjoy your morning coffee watching the people of Sister Bay pass by, grill / dine on the back deck, sip an evening cocktail watching the sun set over the bay, then end your day with a bonfire, smores and a little star gazing.

We host guests year round and ensure your comfort with a whole house furnace and central air conditioning. Please come soak up all four seasons in Sister Bay. We hope to see you soon.

Note: For safety and security purposes, one outdoor camera is located on the property. It is mounted and clearly visible on the rear exterior of the cabin. It monitors activity in the parking area.

IMPORTANT:
* We are PET FRIENDLY for approved dogs with a reservation.
* Max Occupancy is 5 people / 2 cars per our permit with the village of Sister Bay.
* We extend a warm welcome to all guests in our home. Please do not attempt to violate the basic house rules related to: occupancy, pets, smoking or parties etc. and put us all in an uncomfortable position.

Such a quaint cabin, and in a great spot! We were looking for a place that was pet-friendly, as we were traveling with our two dogs; there was a pet bin waiting for pet necessities, which was a nice bonus even though not expected. Chocolates and a Door County bottle of wine waiting in the kitchen. Host was very easy to get in touch with and communicated everything we needed to know for our stay. We were able to walk to most places that we wanted to visit in Sister Bay, and any other spots we wanted to go were within a 4 to 15 minutes drive. Couldn't have asked for a better location. We traveled with two of our children, ages 15 and 10, and were able to watch anything we wanted on the TV from March Madness to movie night. We recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Door County with 5 or less people, it's a great find. Pros: location, ample parking/driveway, stocked kitchen for any basics you may need including Door County coffee, stocked bathroom for any basics you may need, quiet, great host.Things to be aware of (but not changing our rating of the cabin, we'd definitely return): floors are very creaky so you can hear when/where anyone is in the cabin, at all times of the day, the main bedroom has a very low bed, bathroom stall shower is VERY small (adults are 5'7" and 5'11", smaller builds) and our heads almost hit the shower head and space is tight.

For a “cabiny” feel, there some nice modern features. Very comfortable and adorable! Great location and easy to find. Loved that we really felt like we were getting away! Our host left us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary and we thought that was a very nice touch!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sister Bay at this log cabin. This was the second time we stayed here. A very well maintained and beautiful home made our trip most enjoyable for us. The kitchen was a perfect size to make the occasional breakfast and/or supper when needed. Very comfortable couch and bed. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around deck during the evening hours with our dog. Michelle kept in touch with us to make sure everything was great. Will definitely stay there again.

Everything about the place was great; would recommend! We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit Sister Bay. The complementary chocolates and bottle of wine made us feel especially welcome. One small issue: I wish it were possible to walk to and from town on a sidewalk instead of walking along a road with moderate traffic; but you're only on the road for about five minutes so it's not that bad.

Cozy, remodeled historical cabin with all needed amenities & extras (e.g., ample parking, firepit, wrap around porch w/ chairs in front for relaxing/reading & dining table & grill in back, wifi). Stayed for 4 nights. Daughters loved bunk bed suite upstairs. Small dog friendly! Check in was easy and host was quick to respond to questions. Excellent location with 5 minute walk down same street to beautiful water viewing, shops and places to eat. Highly recommend.

Michelle was an excellent host! The day before our scheduled trip, Door County experienced sever storms and had many places with power and internet outages, she reassured us on the state of the property and how to get around road blocks to get there safely. This 1938 log cabin is beautifully restored and updated and we had a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the details of the history of the home which made this cabin even more special in our hearts. Although it is a compact space, the areas are well designed to utilize the home well and the kitchen as stocked with necessary items for those who like to cook their meals vs dine out!Thanks for such a wonderful place to relax!

Cabin is sweet and cozy. Stayed with my 21 and 16 year old. Great location close to center of town. Michelle was very friendly. Cabin was very clean! Highly recommend!

Beautiful property in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything in Sister Bay with a peekaboo view of the bay from the front porch. This is the smallest space we've rented for our family of 5 (plus a dog this year!) but it worked out fine. Three kids (10, 8, 6) were comfortable upstairs in the bunks. We used the grill multiple times, and did s'mores in the fire pit on two of our nights as well. The only thing we overlooked, which is clearly noted on the listing, is the lack of laundry on site. That was a first for us. So we used Sister Bay Suds laundromat in the middle of our stay. It took an hour and about 7 and got us through the rest of our week. Easy! Owners were great. No feedback here. Highly recommend.

Very clean and quaint little house. It's upper level was a great space with two queen/twin bunks. Very cute for children. The location is great, 5 minute walk to Sister Bay.As of our stay, there are not laundry facilities. Was told after we arrived, "it was in the works".There is a laundromat in town.

What a great stay for my husband and I and our pups. This cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring around Door County and a short walk to see the sunset.

Such a cute little cabin as advertised. Well stocked with essentials. Great space for our family of four for the weekend. My kids loved the bunk beds, coffee, creamer and shower essentials provided. Communication was clear and made the stay easy. The place was even available for early checkin though we didn’t arrive until evening. Within easy walking distance to town. Excellent place!

I stayed by myself with my puppy and it couldn't have been more perfect. The remodeled cabin was beautifully decorated and so charming. The furniture was very comfortable and practical. Everything was very clean. The owner was so kind and communicated well with me before and throughout my stay. The property is in a perfect location, just 1/3 of a mile from downtown Sister Bay. It was so easy to walk there. I loved every part of staying there and will return again and again.
