“I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.”

“Room and kitchen were clean and room accomdated 4 people comfortably. Parking was tight but adequate. Joy contacted us around 6:00 pm to find out our ETA and arranged a late arrival by leaving the key in a lockbox which was very helpful. Would recommend this property. ”

“The bed was rock hard and the shower dribbled out. The room was clean and tidy and it was evident that they are trying to upgrade the facilites. ”

“The door was broken with a screw hanging out of the door handle which is asking for injury. When we first got there they said the key was in the door which isn’t very safe, then next minute they have lost the key and it takes them 10-15 to find us a key while we just stand around and wait. We go upstairs see the door handle and it’s literally a box with a bed in it. The bathroom had a dead fly in the shower. Wanted a full refund but only got half even through we did not stay there. DO NOT...

“Wonderful historic building that was once a girl's boarding school. Very quiet location with great walking areas on the property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious chocolates also made on the property. Would highly recommend. ”
