Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city). Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available.”

“No vodaphone reception in king lux rooms on 2nd floor. When questioned what rooms I had previously stayed in(for room layout info) was asked if I was sure it was the Deco and not The Avenue. I have stayed there at least four times but they could not find me on their system. When it first opened,it was so fancy but it is starting to show its age.”

“A top notch experience for our four night stay in a one bedroom apt at East Hotel in Canberra. Underground parking was a key consideration for our stay and it worked well ($20 a night). Very pleasant and helpful staff and a great restaurant (Italian) downstairs where we had both breakfast and dinner a couple of times. Fast wifi. “Lovely size room, and bathroom. Staff were accommodating and quite lovely. Also a great location, great walking distance to everything!!”

“Comfortable basic motel in Forrest. Clean, comfortable bed, well located just 10 minutes walk to Manuka and restaurants. Supplied some crockery and cutlery which was useful.”

“The room was comfortable but the lighting was too dim to read by. The hotel is surrounded by construction for the light rail. It's noisy and makes it hard to get around. The bar is pleasant and we had a good dinner with great service in the dining room.”
