Cosy Cottage on Leura Mall, Leura, Convenience at its Best

“Aberlour Cottage,” is located on Leura Mall, on the Leafy north side of Leura, less than 4 minutes walk from the railway station, restaurants, and shops. This small mountain’s cottage must be one of the best located short term rentals in the Blue Mountains and what it lacks in size it makes up for in convenience, with off street parking, free Wi-FI, an easy walk up to the Alexandra Hotel (pub), fabulous restaurants, and the Blue Mountain’s most vibrant shopping centre, with a host of eclectic homewares, fashion and antique shops.

Leura is a 1hr 40min drive from Sydney and is less than 5min from Katoomba. It is also easily accessed by train from Central Station on the Blue Mountains line, and the journey takes around two hours.

Located just east of Katoomba on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park, Leura is arguably the prettiest village in the Blue Mountains and is the best town to base yourself for all your tours, seeing the Three Sisters, Scenic World, Everglades Garden, and outdoor activities, such as bushwalking, canyoning, abseiling and rock climbing. Leura is filled with character heritage homes, glorious cool climate gardens and a National Trust-classified town centre lined with cherry trees that sends Instagrammers into a frenzy during blossom season.

The house itself, that you will have entirely to yourself, is a small 2-bedroom cottage with one bathroom. It is set on the high side of the street with amazing views over a tree lined valley. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, and second bedroom has 2 single beds. The house, due to its size, is suitable for 4 guests only. There is plenty of hot water at this house and gas heating keeps this cosy cottage even cosier. Clean, hotel quality, linen is all included, and the house is professionally cleaned between guests.

The aim for ‘Aberlour Cottage’ is to provide clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation that, with its proximity to everything you need, will ensure your stay in the Blue Mountains will be a good one.

Comfortable stay close to town.

An older-style house but a comfortable short-term stay for a small group at an affordable rate. Check-in was straightforward and owner was helpful. Worth noting that it has a very steep driveway and this may be a problem for people with mobility issues.

Cosy, Comfortable and affordable

This is a great place to stay as a family of 4, within walking distance of Leura station, and easy access to Katoomba. The host was generous and hospitable, although we didn't really need help during the stay because everything had been clearly communicated and was well set up. Would book again!

We appreciate the little touches that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The owners have obviously put thought into providing a few simple supplies that ensured we had what we needed in order to relax and enjoy what the area has to offer. The cottage was within easy walking distance of the town centre.

Cute little house 🏠

I loved my stay here. The house has a lot of history and had more than I needed for my stay. So close to everything and easy to get to. Heating was perfect and very comfortable bed. Thank you to David for all the details beforehand.

There was a slight urine smell when we first arrived, as if a dog had had an accident on the carpet and had been cleaned up. After a while we didn't notice it so much. Also, the shower needs a screen or curtain as the bathroom get very wet after a shower. Neither issue should prevent you from booking this property, it is good value for money in the area.

Short and comfortable stay

We were in Leura for only 2 nights and this accomodation was very comfortable. Very close to town and main attractions, had almost everything you'd need from a holiday accomodation. Only minor improvement that can be added is internet/wi-fi availablity.
