My husband and I recently completed a one-week stay at your hotel. It was overall an enjoyable experience - but we'd like to call attention to a few things that made our stay less pleasant than expected.
(a) Tripping hazards near the front entrance and in the lobby. As I approached the entrance to the front lobby, I tripped on the single-step raised platform. This could have been a serious fall and definitely not a good way to start a vacation. We noticed the same design in the lobby itself. Both represent somewhat hidden completely unexpected hazards. I believe more should be done to prevent potential falls - placing staff there to warn patrons is not an effective solution as it failed in my case.
(b) Substandard room. We are IHG platinum elite members. Even though it was booked through a 3rd party, we did not expect a room that the upkeep we expected. The bathroom was old with cracked/peeling caulking along the floor and walls, the toilet barely flushed, and the bed was uncomfortable. We were not forewarned that there would be remodeling into the night - instead we found a note in the room. We ended up leaving a few days early. In contrast, our stay last October with an IHG hotel in Osaka was an amazing experience.
Not everything was disappointing. We enjoyed cocktails in the lounge, and found the buffet to be above average. The hotel is well-situated and conveniently located next to shopping areas and restaurants. We found the staff to be warm and friendly.
