The Springhill Downtown was a nice, quiet hotel located in the upper part of downtown. The location was conveniently close to major highways, as well as a short walk to the waterfront walkway, Riverwalk. We attended a show at the Straz Center, which was just 2 blocks away. However, the dining options were limited within a short walking distance of the hotel. Most restaurants were south of the hotel and a 1 to 1.5 walk. The Armature Works is approximately 1 mile north on the Riverwalk. It houses a great selection of food choices. The breakfast is available from 6:30 to 9:30 am. The first morning. We went down for breakfast around 9, and most items were already gone. No eggs, no cereals, no fruits, no orange juice. We skipped breakfast the second morning. But we managed to arrive earlier the next 2 days, around 8:15-8:30, and the selection was much better. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a nice stay.
