“Firstly, let me start by saying we were staying as a couple and didn’t realise it was the school holidays in south east Asia, so this definitely colours my review. The pool area looked amazing when we arrived, but the entire time we were there it was completely crowded with kids - who were having an amazing time and it’s definitely a great resort for families. For us, it was so noisy, overcrowded and you couldn’t get an alcoholic drink until 3pm… and even then, there never seemed to be anyone...

“Got a room that was supposed to have sea view but we only got the horizon part as the lower view was obscured by another block (but only 2 storey). Apart from the above, Lone Pine is a superb resort for those who love basking under the shades of tropical trees and pines too, has well maintained and clean facilities, enjoying the serenity of Batu Ferringhi. Food (breakfast) and drinks were very good too. The play room has large TV screen and we actually stayed up till 1am to watch Champions'...

“We love staying at the Penang Marriott. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We always book a Club Room and find the staff who serve there absolutely A1, truly a home from home! “This property is looking fairly tired. We had a superior room with incredible views and lovely high ceilings, so the room was spacious and easy to relax in. It is, however, in need of some maintenance - chipped laminate, water damaged skirtings etc. The staff are exceptional, very friendly and helpful, super respectful. There was one waiter in particular we would like to give a shoutout to - my apologies for misspelling his name, which I believe is Jhorarule - he was absolutely lovely; even if...

“Mooie grote kamer, zeer proper, mooi uitzicht! Vriendelijk personeel, goed beveiligd. Goed gelegen , een paar leuke restaurants in de buurt, Lotus winkelcentrum op loopafstand. Alleen spijtig dat in onze studio geen broodrooster en microfoon-golf aanwezig was.”

“This is our second stay in this hotel. Location is perfect, nearby to town and also not too far away from Batu Ferringhi area. Although the hotel is a bit old, the staff truly make the difference. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly, providing us with ample items upon request as they knew we do not require any housekeeping service during our stay. “ The hotel does not provide sun umbrellas. They do not provide complimentary bottled water. The bathroom has a noisy fan that cannot be switched off. Breakfast and dinner have limited choice. No fruit was available. Some construction works ongoing. The beach is tiny and somehow dirty. Not comparable with Batu Ferringhi”
