“Room was amazing, very clean and spacious and very comfortable. The staff were all polite and helpful but Adam looked after us really well. Despite being run off his feet, he always had time for us and ensured we had everything we wanted. It was a very relaxing and peaceful stay. ”

“This is a classic quaint, village inn, excellent food, and very comfortable folksy rooms with loft beds. The proprietor and all the staff are super helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to hike directly to the best spots of Hadrians Wall.”

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“This review considers the amazingly low price we paid (£40), compared to other availability in the area. We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. The rooms were warm and clean, and had been newly decorated, the bedding was clean and crisp. The breakfast was adequate, all self serve, tea, coffee, juices, cereals, packet meats and pastries. “room was great, pub was very nice downstairs too and staff were very friendly. The expedia booking site said that the hotel had parking, however this is not the case - not a problem at all and the staff helpfully directed us towards a very local car park (5 minute walk away). ”

“The room was excellent, bed was so comfortable that we slept in on our 1st night, leaving only 1 and a half hours to get ready for a wedding we were going to. The bathroom was lovely, a large shower with rainfall head. Very deep bath that we used on 2nd day. A great menu and restaurants to choose from.
