“After Tokyo, we basked in the generously sized rooms here. It’s worth it to pay a bit extra for the premium rooms. The extra space is amazing. The location was very convenient for us. You can walk to the Gion district, shopping, the river, bars and restaurants. ”

“Buona posizione, camera grande e ben arredata in stile giapponese ma niente di piu’ come esperienza fi ryokan. Impossibile cenare senza prenotazione ( io avevo prenotato da mesi ma a loro non risultava). Personale della reception non in grado di fornire un accettabile livello di serviZio al cliente anche per la scarsa conoscenza dell’inglese. Frigobar vuoto. Niente onsen”

“This hotel is amazing! The room was very nice, and they make a great experience for travellers in the reception area. It’s walkable distance to a lot of sightseeing areas, and otherwise had a metro station and bus stops next door that can take you anywhere. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again! ”

“My father and I stayed at Ishibekoji Muan on his first visit to Kyoto, and Shin went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. Whether it was dinner reservations, taxi bookings or hunting down sake glasses that I admired, she made it all happen effortlessly for us. The property itself is immaculate and elegant, and comfortable to boot. A slice of hospitality heaven in historic Kyoto!”

“This property is very close to Kodai-ji, which was very convenient. Also, the host washed, dried, and folded our laundry (a family of 5) while we were out seeing the sites. This was incredibly helpful. Another highlight of our stay was the wonderful welcome tea and tasty breakfast provided during our stay. Although it was a bit more expensive than other options, these benefits were well worth the additional cost.”

“This Ryokan is so lovely. Upon checking in they served me tea and waffles in my room and then left snacks in addition to the free tea and ramen in the hallway. The room was extremely clean and it was so nice to put on the yukata they provided and sit on the cool tatami floor at the end of the day blow drying my hair. The futon bed was also very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again if I return to kyoto. ”

“This is a super fun, artsy and unique hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood in Kyoto. We stayed in the “game otaku” room with a cozy swing chair. The room was quite large by Japanese standards (queen size bed & a loft with room for 3 futons). It was very comfortable for our family of 3 (parents & teenager). We enjoyed interacting with the friendly & helpful international staff. The lobby has a huge Manga library (including some in English), and some fun retro game systems. The location is...
