“Good points :- Location, helpful staff, clean an & comfortable rooms and dining facilities, good food. Bad points :- Car park far too small - can be a real problem finding a space and parking. No lift to upper floors and therefore access challenging for some senior citizens and a no-go for the disabled.”

“The pub is in a fabulous position, the room we had was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Where it fell down was at dinner. I was there with my wife for our 56th wedding anniversary and was hoping for an excellent experience but the service was poor, I had to go up to the bar and ask for a menu after waiting for some time. “Food was great, staff very helpful, bar and dining room very tidy and clean, good range of drinks, both alcoholic and soft although I am out of touch with prices so had a bit of a shock. This is not a negative, just reality. Plenty of parking and convenient at the rear to avoid stairs. Some areas are in need of decorating such as stairwell and corridors however not terrible. “The room was not cleaned to high standard, the corners and edges in the shower room were dusty and stained. It’s a shame as the place is new and will depreciate quickly if not kept up to good standards. The room is really nice and a very comfortable bed, we slept so well. My partner loved the telly! Staff were fantastic, very helpful. Cannot fault them. Breakfast was disappointing, a lot of food but blunt and not inspiring! Car park is more expensive as compared to little hotels nearby costing...

“Amazing stay. I won’t stay anywhere else when I’m in Paignton again. Very comfy bed and in a peaceful location. The breakfast was so delicious.”

“The hotel and room were clean but upon arrival at the designated check in at 3pm the room wasn’t available due to being cleaned and we had to wait until 420pm to gain access to the room. One issue - The room was very cold upon arrival meaning air con was fully functional and cool (outside temp was 26/27degrees), we went out for the evening and upon returning the air con had been deactivated at the central panel (outside temp was still 20C) so we called reception asking for air con to be looked...

“I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!”

“Lovely building and really helpful owners / staff . Was really clean and tidy and the breakfast was very good . Only a couple of minor things really , the shower head kept dipping down so was a bit of pain when you were shampooing etc . Bit noisy at night time but obviously the very nice owners can’t help that .”

“Property was within walking distance to the beach and shops. Owners Julie-Anne and Charlie were absolutely charming and recommended places to visit and how to get there. Breakfasts were very tasty and the air conditioning worked a treat.”
