Inn a Tewkesbury

“Staying on db&b basis for one night to break a journey, my expectations were not high. However I was wrong! The very ancient pub is just by the Abbey and it is welcoming and our room was very clean if a bit dated. Bath & shower worked well (loads of VERY hot water!) and the bed was comfy. Electrical points in odd spots, but probably practicalities dictated. Dinner was a restricted choice from the full menu but cooking and ingredients of real quality. Very good french onion soup: obviously home...

Unfortunately room condition was disappointing: one of the two matresses and the bath were broken, decoration dated and level of cleaning below average. It is a pity such a great place is not delivering in the rooms the potential that is there”

Il ristorante poi è veramente buono. Dalla colazione alla cena non ho mai avuto da ridire su niente. Se tornerò in zona pernotterò ancora qui. ”
