Originally built in 1892 as the Wesleyan Church, The Old Trentham Church has been thoughtfully transformed into a soulful and beautifully restored retreat in the heart of Trentham. A short 300-metre stroll to the town’s celebrated pubs, cafes and boutiques, this is a place where history, nature, and design come together in perfect harmony.

Inside, soaring panelled ceilings, original timber windows, and crisp white walls set the tone. Find your perfect cozy escape, no matter the season. Sink into the oversized armchair with a good book or unwind by the crackling fire from the comfort of the leather lounge suite. The loft-style master bedroom overlooks the lounge, providing a peaceful sanctuary with serene garden views. . Downstairs, a second bedroom features two singles in a striking, verdant green—inviting relaxation and calm.

A brand new main bathroom featuring a claw foot bath and walk in shower as well as an additional powder room ensure comfort and convenience. The recently updated kitchen—located in the 1948 Sunday School addition—retains its historic charm, with a decorative fireplace, farmhouse table, bentwood chairs, and enough character to grace the pages of Country Style.

But it is the celestial gardens that truly set this property apart. A red brick driveway draws you through a breathtaking landscape of mature and unique trees, forming a magical canopy that only time can create. Be enchanted by maples, birch, and oak; weeping elm, box elder, and dogwoods; alongside paperbarks, hydrangeas, camellias, hebes and more.

A lovely weekend away in the pretty town of Trentham.

Staying in the oldest church in Trentham was an absolute treat!Renovated to perfection with all the details of the church preserved. Beautiful fittings and furnishings, and all the mod cons. Really comfy beds and a large lounge room with leather couches to relax in front of the indoor fire. A large beautiful garden with outdoor fire pit to enjoy and lots of room for doggies to run. With split system heating, it was warm and cosy and great kitchen amenities. Very homely. Only 5 mins walk to town. Lovely food and great coffee to enjoy. We will be back.
