“The Ann Stevens House was a short stay. We went to the Daytona 500 about 26 miles away. It was quaint with antiques placed in our 2nd story room. The mattress was rather hard, but not horrible. There was of plenty of parking and the room was very clean. The host is very nice and accommodating. My only negative comment is that the stairs, that looked rather new, were rough cut, unsanded and unfinished. My husband got a pretty large splinter from the banister. ”

“The room was hot, sticky, and smelly. I was planning on staying there two nights with some friends of mine and we did not feel safe in the area and ended up staying elsewhere and losing our money. The room had hardly any amenities, no hair dryer, no iron, nothing. It felt dirty and I did not feel comfortable at all there. ”

The curtains do not darken perfectly, so in the morning light penetrates the window very early. “Disgusting. Everything looked old and dirty. Rust everywhere. Stains on the sheets. I didn’t even wanna shower. The staff was nice though, I will say that. The pool looked ok too. But the room itself was super gross”

“This place is wonderful! Off the beaten path, quiet, and beautiful. Kids were able to play outside safely. The fishing was great this past weekend. The stripper were running the shad in to the shore and having a feast. The staff was so nice and informative. I’m 63 and it reminds me of being with my parents in 1972 and I had to smile. Also my bed was so nice!”

We had to take the sheets downstairs and would receive them in the morning, but at night they were returned unironed, and we had to make the bed ourselves. “Right in the heart of historic downtown Sanford. Short walk to Lake Monroe and all of the local amenities. Check in was a breeze and the room was tastefully designed and color coordinated very well. The ceilings are high and the ceiling tiles are very unique. There are artistic touches in the entire unit which makes it quite cozy and fun.”
